Discipline to inform and impose principles upon them (or it in this case). An unreasonable man may break the arms or legs of a criminal in the hope that he learns the feeling of being preyed upon. And maybe next time he won't prey upon others. This lesson could be considered "saving" them.Which brings us to "Batman doesn't kill". If Batman killed a serial killer or a mob boss, surely the state of the city would improve. But maybe that mob boss could flip on a worse guy. Maybe a serial killer could be in a psychiatry study that helps police catch the next one. In these circumstances, a person has been "saved" in a way. And maybe someday they could be rehabilitated. Who knows.But such doors are closed by death. And if the door is closed, they couldn't be saved. And if they can't be saved, maybe Gotham can't be saved. And if Gotham can't be saved, then the Waynes were schmucks who wasted life and time until some shithead shot them in the street. And Bruce can't tolerate that, so he never kills. If he kills, then what was it all for?

Does anyone else treat the story of the Arkham series as more or less completely different game to game? The more comic style of Asylum really does not match well with Knight, also the story gets kind of disjointed when pushed all together. Would have preferred if Arkham Origins and it's Batman had a few more games with it separated from the main story of Asylum, City and Knight.
