cap your FPS to a reasonable number retard

Does motion blur even achieve anything besides forcing you to stop moving or rotating to make out any detail and eating up processing power

I love their second SW games, but that actually pissed me off

Motion blur makes ~30fps games look less shitty when you pan the camera
It's a crutch for consoles
>>
>>741761119
Maybe for older monitors and cards but ever since 2017 to 2018, Screen tearing becomes more notable with the amped up performance with all devices being on par.
>>
>>741761059
i don't know what your image is supposed to mean, but vsync should be off if your monitor has g-sync or freesync, and if it doesn't, you can use rivatuner to move the tear line at the bottom or top of the screen, it's called scanline sync

>cap framerate at 58, or 116
why these specific numbers?
>>
>>741762979
if i got it right, the idea was that if the screen is 60 HZ, capping it at 58 fps max will make the framerate always be at sync - in practice this is true, unless you have fast screen refreshes, like too fast.

same is true for the 120 hz screen with 116 fps cap - here you do the same but you are sure that the game is so undemanding that you can get max fps on a 1440p 120 hz screen - this option is for when you just know that you can run the game at max settings, but you still want lower temps.

the result is a GPU that never ever works at more than 60 degrees and the fans will only ever spin if a very intensive moment is happening.
>>
>>741762979
You cap 2–3 FPS below your refresh rate (e.g., 58 on 60Hz, 116 on 120Hz) to keep G-Sync/FreeSync active, prevent it from turning off at the max refresh rate, and avoid V-Sync stutter by giving the GPU a tiny buffer so it never misses a screen refresh cycle. This gives you the smoothest gameplay with the lowest input lag.

It's definitely real if you're using a 60hz screen and hardware that can output more than 60 fps in a videogame.
Or if you're using X-Org on linux with an nvidia crad, doesn't matter videogame or not :^)

anyway if you have VRR panel then it's no longer a problem, cap fps below refresh rate or use goyvideo reflex
>>

>>

Do you even know how vrr works?
It just sets the rate to the nearest number that divides into the full refresh rate. It's fucking annoying when it jumps between 72 and 144. Just set a hard limit and forget about it

You are supposed to use v-sync with g-sync
>>
>>741761589
this and motion blur are the only settings always off
>>
>>741768993
yes? just because you have a VRR display, doesn't mean you won't get judder without sync
also you're thinking of LFC which kicks in below your VRR range where it starts doubling frames so it'll be in your VRR window to refresh but otherwise VRR syncs to any arbitrary number within your VRR range e.g 48-160 etc

Which is why you enable it in the nvidia control pannel, but disable it in the in-game menu, unless you use frame generation in which case you shouldn't be able to disable from within the game.
