Regardless of what happens in Revelation it will be defended to the death by people who would have loved it no matter what. All they want is more time with the characters. It doesn't matter if it's tedious, boring, nonsensical, badly written, insulting to their intelligence, utter trash. FF7R is probably infuriating to modders in particular because it'd probably be way too hard to turn it into a "more accurate to the OG" experience. Like you can mod in outfits, you can mod in weapons, you can even mod in Limit Breaks and all sorts of shit, but you can't just forcibly change everything to be closer to the original game. That would take a level of ability and time that most modders just don't have.

I've only played remake, haven't been able to force myself through rebirth yet. The game just sucks ass. Its basically entirely on rails and none of the side content means shit. Leveling doesnt mean shit. You are basically watching a movie whats the point of the gameplay elements at all?The combat was boring build a bar use attack swap and repeat forever. The butchered the masterpiece of a soundtrack. You cant play as red xiii. Apparently your save data doesn't transfer forward. I could go on. The only reason I might consider playing the next game is to see wtf they did to the story but clearly that alone isnt working as motivation.
