>2026... I am forgotten...
Goes to show that challenge is most important part of videogames
>>741765930https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpVk3l4pb20
>>741765930demo was too fucking easy, killed all the hype
>>741765930I was so bored of the demo I couldn't even finish it, there was just nothing there
they should have released a late game boss with the demo instead of just the fucking tutorial capcom really seems to suck at difficulty nowadays though
>>741765930Felt more like a fromslop game than Onimusha. I wanted the series back but not like this.
>>741765930Will we have gift exchange
None of you played an Onimusha game ever, shit was never hard on normal, you always had so much free healies and free health whenever you ran low.>Under the mayoImagine listening to a lolcow.
>>741768038I could not care less about what some youtube has to say, but to give him credit, he does demonstrate the simplicity in the video, literally he shows just how all he does is mashes square to kill the enemies.I played Onimusha 3 when it came out and I don't remember the game being this easy at all.
>>741768285>when it came outWhen Warlords came out I beat while mashing square and triangle for magic and beat it, I thought the game was hard. The reality is the game tells you nothing about it's combat system. Once you stop being gay and get good with Tank Controls and master a few Issen's you pretty much never need healing.Imagine if the game actually told you there was a 1 shot mechanic that gives you guaranteed health back.In Onimusha 3 you have so much mobility and so many resources that outside of a few bumps it loops back to the same difficulty as it's original. The only difference is that in 3 you at least unlock more difficulty options.3's Dark Realm is a somewhat good challenge I'll give you that, but it's completely optional.2's the only game I would classify as hard because it's very unforgiving if you don't understand how to play Onimusha and has some crazy difficulty spikes.I won't even get on DoD and how easy that game can be broken despite the abysmal US release making the game a slog.In short, these games have never been hard. And now people are basing their opinion off a demo, on normal difficulty, with only the most basic enemies in the game, and suprised they can turn their brain off and mash the first encounters in the game.I also mashed through DMC3 first time I played because I was retarded, I guess the game was bad all along.
>>741769695I respect your input, I probably need to play the classic Onimusha games to get a better idea of the series.I actually forgot that I played Dawn of Dreams during it's release, it was super forgettable from what I remember, also repetitive as hell, it's probably why I forgot it.
>>741770352If you do get around to DoD I highly recommend you just play the JP version if possible, it has full english audio and text support so you can even play it with jap audio and en sub.The US/EU release cranks up the health values of enemies and bosses and changes up some enemy spawns to be harder, however because of the insane amount of health it makes the game overall feel dull and boring as you end up chipping away at a health bar that barely ticks down.Unless you really know what you are doing and what you are leveling, it will feel like you are barely doing damage.I am not sure why the fuck they did this, but the JP release is substantially easier but also way less grindy, and DoD is already hard enough to get enough souls for all your characters so you can play around with them.Unless you just like to suffer, Try out the JP release, I think it's a bit buggier(I have fallen through the map like 3 fucking times, never happened on the US release though I know it's possible on 1 stage), It should emulate fine now.1 and 2 also emulate flawlessly if you don't want to give capcom money for their awful HD remasters.
Regarding Way of the Sword I'm cautiously optimistic. Although I like the slower approach to combat, and aesthetics reminding me more of warlords, I'm disappointed if all oni weapons will just be tied to your purple orbs and your 1 button press.I realize this is pretty similar to how magic worked, but I'd rather have some more weapons and highly hope we won't be restricted to just 1 weapon.Changes to Issen seem like a decent compromise between how easy they were on DoD and how broken they were on Oni 3, though I would prefer the faster chains of Oni 2 and 3.
I don't know why everyone here is freaking out over the difficulty. They're going to make it significantly harder when the game comes out.
>>741765930>demo is just a painfully easy tutorial missionhonestly did more harm than good
I played all the classic games on hard/genma and they were all super easydark souls really changed everything
>>741774238Did you play Onimusha Genma? How is it? Never got around to it because it's stuck on the xbox.
What's with the obsession with "challenge" and "difficulty" in modern games?
I expected an easy game, the thing that killed my interest is the camera
>>741775223>aw sheeit why it gotta be hawdBrown detected
>>741775223What's the point in multiple defensive techniques when you can just mash to win
>>741775223because challenge is the only fun thing AAA devs can provide in this day and ageI wouldnt mind the easy combat here if you were fighting 50 dudes at once but no its just the same dark souls placed 3-4 guys which is just boringmodern devs simply cant make fun games anymore
>>741775223fun things are fun
>>741768285>literally he shows just how all he does is mashes square to kill the enemies. You can do this just as easily in Oni1-3 in their first levels as well.
Are the other games worth it?
>>741765930I'm replaying Sekiro instead
>>741778838Yeah
>>741778737Zoomers have never played Onimusha
>>741778867the steam version is ok?
i have samurai guy with sword in classical japanese or chinese setting fatigue
>>741778737Actually you can mash out most enemy encounters even in the late game
>>741766940Nowadays? What was the last difficult, non-competitive, non-coop Cpacom game?
More hyped for this than GTA6. Demo was insanely fun>b-but the demo was easyPower fantasy > "muh challenge"
>>741765930You like parrying? What if we have you FOUR parry buttons and made them all really easy?
>>741765930>more hype about DA2 than this, despite DD2 getting publicly raped and curbstompedouch
>>741778852See, i want Sekiro but without getting filtered. This is why i crave something like Onimusha.
>>741778068if it's satisfying, then that's all that matters.
>>741765930Demo killed any hype people had for the game. It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't put in a sequence where you get jumped by 10 enemies and they just stand around in the background waiting to get slaughtered. I know capcoms MO is making games so easy even retarded normies can complete them, but it really is just to the detriment of compelling gameplay.
>>741780617This, pretty much dropped it when I saw it was the equivalent of samurai Batman: Arkham Asylum.
>>741768285Oni 3 is easier than 1 and 2.
>>741780617I wasn't hyped for it UNTIL i played the demo though.
>>741780617How many Onimusha games did you play? The series has been fully out for 2 decades so I'm sure you've already had the time to at least try them all.
>>741780617Buying it because of the demo. I love comfy action with flashy mechanics.
I'm too old to give a fuck about le difficulty games I play games for fun and to relax sounds like the game for me
>>741765930>make DD2 piss easy>people complain and drop it>make Wilds piss easy>people complain and drop it Surely making Onimusha piss easy will work out this time
>>741765930>MOM!! CAN WE HAVE SEKIRO?
>>741781773DD2 was literally designed to have the exact same problems and dated game design as the first one.Wilds had serious performance issues on PC and needed more postgame content.I'm pretty sure difficulty was the least of those game's problems.
>>741781798Reminder that Onimusha had timed block presses named deflect since the first game on PS2.
