>I started a physical collection for it to be digital codes?
As soon as games day 1 patches became a thing I knew physical was over, if you care about owning your games than DRM free files on your PC is the only optional left I'm afraid
Why are you starting a physical collection in the 2020s?
>>741772516Last time I bought a PC game physically I took it home only to find out i could not even play it unless I downloaded this thing called "steam"Then subsequently downloaded steam only to find I had to download the entire game and the disc was just a fucking frisbee. Now its console only players turn to feel that rage.
>>741772393Be happy you're living through a time before games are streaming only and don't let you run them locally.
Rockstar is doing you a favor. Your consoles won't last forever.
I own nothing and I am unhappy.
>>741772393remember when you opened game cases and these funny looking eas strip barcode tags dropped out. now you open game cases and you don't even get an actual cartridge or any manual or reverse box art. all you get is the tag you scan to download your game. that will be 100 dollars plus tip sir.
HAHAHAHA
>>741772709To preserve as much as possible from what will be known as the "before times" in the future. A future where when any idea character in the live service games you rent line of dialogue becomes politically inconvenient, it gets updated and patched out.
>>741773391it'll be just empty cases in the store, it's all a joke, the moment you walk up to the checkout they will just mint a new gta 6 code for you straight from the tap
>>741772841Now if you somehow manage to buy a physical PC release that even has a disc inside it's just a link to steam on it. They used to put data on the disc at some point, I checked it was there, but frankly I don't even know how you make steam use it, and it's probably all obsolete day 1 after release anyway not to mention for games that had a lot of updates and DLC over time.I haven't had an optical drive in my PC for years. Also what kind of drive, last time I actually tried it was a DVD but any modern game would have to be on like 6 disks on something because of how bloated it is and I don't think having a bluray drive in a PC ever caught on, they became obsolete before they got cheap enough to buy and didn't have much use case. Everyone on PC was already downloading games on steam and if you still watched movies off disk instead of streaming you probably had a console or a dedicated player rather than hooking up a PC to the TV,
>>741772841Remember when MGS5's disc was just a Steam installer?Good times.
>>741772393All you need is the case to put on your shelf for the purpose of taste signalling, right?
>>741772393I remembered oppenheimer used to be everywhere now nobody cares about it
>>741773894No. Was it really? My game I was talking about was total war shogun 2.>>741773750I am fine with digital games and while I am not a poorfag anymore so dont resell my games to make bucks back and dont pirate, in my eyes when i have bought even a dic, I bought a license and "own" that game so even pirating is good. Because no matter what, disc or digital, or we are ever buying is a license. The luddites I see who cant let go of physical cannot even grab the idea they dont own the game let alone every game is digital now regardless of if you own a disc.
>>741774098I hope you'll remember that people complaining about $80/$100 and no disc were everywhere too.
