Currently playing through Halo in chronological order. Got done with CE just today and am now pondering how to play through Halo 2 vs ODST. I'll probably start with 2 and jump over to ODST at the correct midpoint in the story.

Yeah I've started and dropped it like 4 times too. The gameplay is so fucking boring. Also there's a bug where if you set the view distance to max, NPCs spawn in at like a mile radius. So because so if 50 NPCs spawn, you only see 10 around you because the other 40 are spawned miles away

34 year old here, recently I emulated a link to the past (my first playthrough), super mario world (all coin run), and lufia 2 (first playthrough).

Then, I downloaded chained echoes on a whim because some people on here say that it is is good. I loved the first 11 hours, but the second that mechs and mech combat introduced I could plainly see that the game was fucked. It just feels like a much worse discount version of xenogears, which already had bad mech combat. I'm unsure if it is like xenoblade, I never played those games, but I would be interested to hear if it ripped those off too..

Basically, everything good in chained echoes is just ripped directly from an older and better rpg. Even the "quest accepted" screen is stolen from FFTA/FFTA2 lol. The writing and story were fine, if a little childish and meh despite the rape, torture, war, genocide, and other grimdark topics that it tries to cover. I also didn't like not being able to grind, it made normal enemies feel like an utter waste of time. I liked the ground combat though, and I liked the graphics/art/exploration/classes.

I think the game would have been better if the dude had aimed for a solid 12 hour romp like chrono trigger rather than trying to make a 70 hour epic like xenogears. Try to focus on one or two topics and systems rather than dozens, and really tighten up the quality of the writing and exploration, and it would have been goated.

Side note, I bought a bike and I have been cycling a lot, which has been fun
