Every single hobby worth a shit requires a long period of investment, it means there's actual meat to chew through instead of just a bone you lick all over like a stupid dog. Also, fighting games don't require "thousands of hours doing training" what fucking fighting games are you playing? I know damn well it's not some 20 year old broken air dasher with 12 people who know about its existence worldwide that requires very specific knowledge to even get your foot on the door, so drop the bullshit. As a complete beginner to the genre it took me less than 5 hours to "get it" for an easy modern fg like granblue, then it took me a week to understand the genre at large by trying out the classics, the best part about that week is that once I was done with it I had enough legacy skill to carry me throughout the entire genre, that's thousands of games I can hop in at any time with a friend or some random on fightcade and actually be able to tell what's happening, I bet that, if I gave the genre my all, I could become an actually good player for 5-6 different games (I've seen people who have done it before). The process of learning fighting games, or any good hobby for that matter, is only truly difficult during the beginning stage, once you're done with it you're going to have so much fun your mind will enter a experimentation process, seeking to define what you actually want out of the activity and then you get a clear answer on the skills you actually have to learn, which, will never seem as difficult as learning how to do a hadouken for the first time.

If you take 200 hours to learn how to press a few buttons in sequence then you would absolutely also take 200 hours to learn how to play a few chords on piano.
