>imperceptible input lag (sekiro, ER, etc were perfectly and totally playable with this arrangement. albeit I do have gigabit ethernet between my office and the living room)

but even that withstanding, having a thunderbolt port on the damn thing for an optional eGPU would help immensely in the performance department, aesthetics be damned.

honestly the steam machine is a DOA incoming-flop. it needs to cost about $300 and be seen as a loss leader for

What the fuck are all those wires?
Why are you using a wired mouse and wired kb? We're not in 1997, you can use a dongle for ~3ms latency, which is well within tolerance for everything but fighting games.
Why is there more than a single HDMI/DP from PC to monitor?
Why do you have m&kb AND controllers?
Why is your PC bigger than your tv?

I'm confused.
If I'm using my PC in my living room for some reason 99% of the time it's just watching something using it (like streaming from a camrip site or something) and I'm just streaming to our TV because who cares if it's got latency when you're watching a movie.

Things like a Dos prompt or dicking around with .sys files to get a game to run in windows on 8MB ram. were commonplace before youtube, copilot and every other braindead easy how-to imaginable become available on demand; any time, any where.

but now it seems the zoomers are absolutely fucking baffled by anything more demanding than opening an app on their phone.

The "cheaper if you assemble it yourself" part is the cherry on top. But we all know how Pcbros work, they will buy the Steam Machine anyway and do mental gymnastics to justify it.

I'm not disputing performance, I'm just saying it'll probably be loud as fuck. The 9060 XT has high TDP, well, it's around 160-200W. That results in pretty loud cooling if every penny is pinched, which is exactly what I'm afraid of. They don't specify which model they use. Also they are using the lowest end motherboard possible.

The Steam Machine is literally all heatsink. I don't think you're familiar with how shit tier manufacturers like ASUS cheap out on gfx card cooling solutions. I had an ASUS 3060 Ti and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Reviews showed that it was quiet compared to other ones but it was bullshit, it was actually loud as fuck. 3060 Ti is officially 200W TDP by the way, it's not that high.
>>
>>741804426

>>741807154
No it's perfectly normal, the reason it's so loud is because the heatsink is very light. It weighs like half of my GTX 980 (180W card) and my 9060 XT is even heavier than the GTX 980. The heatsink weight has a huge effect on how much heat it can dissipate without running the fans at over 1200 RPM.

Then you do have less noise autism than I do. 2000 RPM for me is extremely high, on the Nitro+ fans are pretty quiet at 1700 RPM - on the ASUS card it was awful even at 1600 RPM - but I still rather not see that if I can help it. Most of my fans including case fans are less than 1000 RPM. The CPU and GPU fans can go over that specially since it's fucking hot here. I can barely survive myself

If you think you have it hard then be glad you're not me.

a NUC with moonlight is exponentially cheaper than a tard cube

Why even buy a Living room gaming PC when you can just stream games to the TV.

I stream my 2000$ gaming PC whit 32 GB or Ram and 6 TB of SSD space that i got back when prices ware more stable.
And also a 200$ used gaming Laptop that is as powerful as a PS4 that i play older games and indies and can so my daily grind in older games like Destny 2 and Guild Wars 2 on and can even stream my gaming PC to at work.

The part that Gabe does not want us to notice is that these small cases are designed to separately cool the CPU and GPU. It's the 8 gb vram version. Also it's coming from europe so there's shipping costs there. And euros to usd the 999.99 unassembled is about 1135 usd so it's about 100 more expensive. Also the power supply provided is 350 watts but the 9060xt requires 450 watts so their supply is under AMD's minimum requirement. Here's the full specs https://www.ldlc.com/en/product/PB00745923.html

I live in a basement apartment with my wife. I have an RTX 3090 PC I built years ago, never felt the need to upgrade because it still rips basically every game in half. I run a single HDMI cable from my PC to my living room tv. I have a wireless keyboard with a lapboard and mousepad. Pic related, has nice cushioning underneath. I also have wireless headphones and controllers. I could also just cast my PC to the living room TV if I only need 60fps. The living room tv is an LG OLED tv that outputs 120fps, has GSync and is connected to my surround sound system.

I have been playing PC games in 4k120fps in my living room, with surround sound, with either mouse and keyboard or controllers, very comfortably for the last 6 years. I thought all PC gamers did something like this?

For those wondering how much money this cost me? Thousands upon thousands of course. But goddamn has this shit been worth it. Any friend I've shown the setup to has tried to emulate it because its objectively the best way to play video games.

that's the only use case I can really see for the steam machine, as an adjunct to your already existing gaming PC. it certainly does not need the price tag they're asking. Cursed, 60/75% was made for this scenario. You're going to destroy your wrist permanently with an RSI gaming like that. Proper mouse control is moving the mouse exclusively with your arm and making micro adjustments with your fingertip (not palming the mouse).

No? I have exceptional aiming skills. When I cared about competitive gaming I made top 300 worldwide in RS6 (don't really care about that shit anymore though as it made the game feel like a job). Aiming with your wrist will destroy it. Gaming with low DPI is for health. You aim with your arm and do fine adjustments by pulling/tilting/pushing the mouse with your fingertips. That setup will cause carpel tunnel guaranteed. Rapid wrist movements, like the kind performed by a complete retard while gaming, result in hyperextension and hyperflexion. It creates microstressors that add up and cause tension on tendons and the anatomical structures in your hand. The difference between minor inflammation and permanent damage is extremely small, you will go from "hmm my wrist feels kinda funny" to permanent irreversible damage in no time. There is no build-up.
Genuinely you should considering making adjustments before it is too late. Not going to take anymore bait. Just expressing concern for the wellbeing of fellow anons, nigger.

Only if you assume that console = PC, which you can do, but I never would.
Like I'd pick the PC I had 10 years ago over a PS5pro.

They did not abandon CS2, TF2 is 20 years old and for a game this old it's still getting a lot of love, even if it's not much in absolute numbers.
They are working on Deadlock, they're also keeping Dota 2 running. They're only ~300 people, they're doing alright.

You and disagree with someone who is wrong even if the steam cube has bad value. Focus on truth rather than who the truth is supporting or attacking.

They're right. Making a shit product that only can survive because you're burning your money to prop it up doesn't make sense.
The solution is to make something better, not to subsidize it.

I have a $60 Dell in my living room with a $30 RX 550. Sometimes I stream my main PC to it when I want to play some modern slopa on the couch with a controller. I mostly use it to watch pirated movies and play PS2 games.

Isn't USB-C almost better then every other type of cable, even specialized cables like hdmi and ethernet are worse then USB-C at doing the only thing they can do

There’s no point stating your opinion here. This place is infested with basement dwelling orcs. They love playing with their Ninti and their Personal Porn-puters with an almost dogmatic fervor.

How do you clean dust with this setup? In a couple of days, everything will be covered in dust and impossible to clean.

>>
>>741846301
Apparently having a PC in your living room is too much freedoms and the police will shoot you
>>
>>741846134
Wrong.
Your PC accumulates dust specifically because it sits on a surface where dust collects, whether that's the floor or a desk. The fans draw in the dust that accumulates on that surface, and once it's inside, it has no way to get back out. It essentially works like a vacuum cleaner.
A wallmounted PC doesn't really have that problem. It's open, so there are no possible airflow issues. It doesn't suck in surrounding dust because there is no buildup on any surface nearby; the only dust present is the shit suspended in the air, which very slowly settles on that small area of components attached to the wall, sure.
But you wouldn't believe how little dust it gets compared to a standard rig.

When it comes to my setup in particular, the fans are angled and blow air directly across the other components, so the small amount of dust that does settle on the GPU (and everything else) is almost completely swept away on its own.
Over the course of five years or something, I've only needed to clean it once, around six months ago. Since then, dust accumulation has been zero. It looks exactly the same as it did on the day I took it apart and cleaned it.

....you are aware Steam Machine has 2 USB2 ports on its rear, right? Granted the expectation is your mouse & keyboard would occupy those ports.
