OG RE1 / Director's Cut on Arranged mode.
Remake 1 gets very close.
Dead Aim is underrated and is actually top spooky at best.

7 is just predictable and boring slop.

OG Nemesis nigga. When I was growing up I didn't have a PSX, my neighbor had it. In the span of couple years I bought like 2-3 copies of RE3, and also 2-3 joysticks and brought it to his house to play lol. The game was $2.50 (pirated, every console is modchipped from seller/store) and controllers were like $4 for a regular and $8 for a dual analog lel.

This is probably true, and I'm not even a fan of 7. RE 1-3 were scary for their time, but they aged out.

I haven't played all RE games, but out of the ones I have, REmake scared me the most. I rented the game as a kid and could barely get out of the entrance hall. I tried it again it later and got close to beating it, but I've gotten pretty desensitized to horror and don't find it nearly as scary now.

only 5 year olds get scared of resident evil
>>
>>741812948
Whats a REAL scary game then??
>>
>>741807612
I can only confirm that the best one is 4
>>
>>741807612
None of them were ever scary, they only had a "scary" atmosphere due to tension.
>>741807718
Stupid baby opinion.

>>741807718
RE7 isn't scary at all

1 og and remake, then 2 and 3.
>>
>>741819161
None, really. The closest games I've found to establish a legitimately oppressive atmosphere were the original Silent Hill games. FEAR too, I guess? Some dungeons in the original STALKER games are pretty spooky too. RE7 feels like a haunted house ride compared to those.
>>
>>741807612
RE2 was the scariest, I could not play that alone.

OG RE1's use of color and it's decently lit rooms made it unnerving.
>>
>>741807718
>Genuinely kinda spooked at 7's intro
>Halfway through the game shits itself and starts to kinda blow
Lacking a real final boss was the breaking point for me. I wish 8 had bothered trying to keep the spooky factor up but outside the intro it too kinda falls into the same trap.
>>
>>741807612
All remake and modern re are scary
Old re are boring, janky and obsolete
>>
>>741807612
None of them are scary.
>>
>>741820517
FEAR is probably the least scary "horror" game, if you could even call it that.
SH isn't scary at all
t. only scared by jumpscares
