that is just your cognitive bias at work. when you take a 70% shot, you feel cheated when it doesn't hit, but you instantly forget about it if it happens to hit. i had this experience with the pokemon TCG video game when i was playing it on GB emulator so i actually started keeping notes of the coin flips and ran the calculations, and yeah, it was fair 50/50 even though i felt like i was being shafted.

The probability of getting an actual 50/50 heads tails split on even 10 flips is 25%. You are less likely to get a perfect 50/50 the more times the coin flips, ding dong

And simultaneously further away.
Consider this, you flip 8000 coins, you are now at 3800 heads and 4200 tails. In order to even those odds you would need 400 heads in a row.....
Vs if you just flipped the coin 4 times, and got 3 heads 1 tails, now you only need 2 tails which is statistically much higher probability than the 400 heads you'd need to hit the actual 50/50

The game trained me to not even bother taking a shot unless it was 80% or more and even then I'd only take it if I knew shit wouldn't hit the fan if I missed.
