What's stopping you from making your dream game?
I don't want to make games, I want to play them.
>>741809590I don't have dreams anymore....
>>741809590jews existing
game dev takes exhaustingly long and my genre of choice (ASCII roguelikes) are so niche I doubt I’d even break even.
C# being a shit language and all the good engines are being kept locked down. Can't technically release a game on a pirated copy of a game engine.
Making games is hard
>>741809590Nothing. I'm making one now. I'm in the middle of implementing 100% deterministic network loading.
>>741809590I have a job
>>741809590Development time is longer than my life expectancy
>>741809590I can't get people to take an interest in what I'm working on until it's finished, and even then it's a crapshoot whether they'll care about it, so motivation is incredibly low. It's why I've been spending more time modding instead, since the vanilla game existing means there's an established audience that's predisposed to care, along with an existing example of what the core gameplay will be.
one person making a game isn't realisticbut I like learning about it and maybe enough to make some interactive goon 3dcg
>>741809590Hardware monopolies and Israeli supremecy.
>>741809590I don't understand coding I suck at textures and animation scares me
>>741809590my dream game is a metroidvania so there's not any point since it's flooded
