Why is it whenever a game has fantasy races theres always this huge societal, generational and cultural divide between them all? You’ll get elves who hate mankind or think they’re above mankind, men who have no regard for nature or elves, dwarves who hate elves, beast races who hate humans and then so on with others like orcs, ogres, goblins and trolls.

Tolkien pretty much covered all of it and 99% of fantasy vidya are just ripping off him or some other form of greek, celtic or norse mythology which he already was versed in. I do wonder if more obscure media does anything somewhat different or unconventional without getting too bizarre or destroying the setting.

>>741812002This is just most CRPGs in general. The races never actually feel all that different and exotic, unless its a monster race that kill. Player races never feel distinct. Baldur's Gate 3 was diverse, but every NPC you met is just some Cosmopolitan twat who all sound the same.
