How come when movies create a characters whos job is to look cool everyone loves it but with gamers if you do this everyone calls it shallow and thinks the character needs nuance or some morally grey backstory?

Gamers want to be seen as highbrow as movie lovers and hollywood overall which is ironic when everyone has nothing but the lowest contempt for gamers and their hobby. Then they complain when the industry trends toward cinematic games heralded by your Neil Druckmanns and Santa Monicas and other studios.
