I think if you combined whatever you want to call Doom's aiming (auto-height adjustment?), with Rareware's aim button (I doubt they were the first to do it with GoldenEye, but I don't know who did); even taking into account gyro, that'd be the best setup for FPS/TPSs on console, and would probably suit some genres/games on PC too. Like do you really need to aim up with the bow in 3D Zelda's to hit the umpteenth eye switch?
