I think such public embarrassments is borderline impossible to recover from in the eyes of the wider gaming community, and led to antifans/culture war dweebs that want to see it fail to socially and economically capitalize on it. I like the contracting and RPG-ish aspect of Marathon, generally I just enjoy going out into a hostile world and trying to bring back what I can to improve my character/base. I hear Tarkov has that but I'm not sure if I want to get into that game, mostly because of the asthetics. I hear it has a base you can improve/build upon with resources you collect from the world though. You think it's worth picking up?
