>Be me
>Replaying the first couple games
>I forgot how unpozzed they are compared to the nigger tranny shovelware jewbisoft puts out now
>Combat is raw and gory
>Stabbing someone actually has weight
>No LGBTBBQ subhuman garbage
>Ezio is a complete gigachad who fucks everything that moves (based)
>Every single women is hot and has massive tits
>The characters are probably 99% white (in the Italy games) >I think I’ve seen like two niggers so far max
>The dialogue is snappy and clever instead of the marvel slop we get in modern ass creed
>No RPG stupidity
>No level gating
>No paying real money for in game currency
>The modern day sections are interesting and don’t overstay their welcome
>I think the facial animations on these 15 year old games might actually be better than what we’re getting today

Where did it all go wrong?

Black Flag. The story is bare bones and the characters are short-lived with little screen time. Assassins and Templars don't matter at all until the last couple of hours. A bloated world full of useless collectibles. RPG mechanics creeping in.
Unity. Outright uses French Revolution and its immense potential for an irrelevant backdrop to a very retarded and boring Romeo & Juliet story. Absolutely dogshit protagonist. A very counter-revolutionary and pro-Bourbon narrative with choke load of historical inauthenticity and inaccuracies. Blatant lies and garbage added in the game. RPG shit has fully creeped in. Still a glitchy mess with terrible texture details and non-existent draw distance. Half of the game is fucked because it's designed around its now dead multiplayer.

I know thinking about the past is useless and nostalgiafagging is also worthless. It still hurts though. For me it was Origins. I just couldn't. I couldn't go through the grind and the faulty rpg mechanics. It just killed the entire vibe and the game felt like a chore.

I just...its tough to describe but its like watching your loved one die. Assassins Creed was what made my childhood. Soundtracks from AC2 especially "Home in Florence", "Dreams of Venice" and "Ezio's Family", AC3 came with its beautiful story and Haytham turned into one of the best written video game characters, icing on the cake was the great AC4 with its sea shanties and naval combat. Unity was such a great leap in parkour and god Paris was so gorgeous. It was peace. It was beautiful. A great direction the series followed. Now its...well you know what it is. What a shame. What an utter fall from grace.

Oh one other thing I forgot to mention is combat AI. Is it just me or do guards not run away or surrender anymore in the new games? I swear I haven’t seen them do it like they used to in the originals

It’s pretty good. Maybe a bit long but the story is well written. Brotherhood is my personal favorite

Nice thread theme. I like how they’re just putting rap music in the modern ones lmao

Valid criticism for both Black Flag and Unity, but the games were good in "something" atleast. Black Flag had sea shanties and naval combat, Unity had parkour and god Paris and Versailles were so beautiful, running around the rooftops with flawless jumps, ascents and descents. The games "had something" to go on, to enjoy, that was good. Now everything in AC games is shit like OP explained.

Retards like you are the reason this series is dead. AC4 sucks ass and its naval combat is inferior to AC3.
Unity is also extremely restrictive in its parkour and animations based, meaning that you can't even do back ejects freely or make risky jumps to catch ledges. The latter is only fixed properly with mods.

Here:
>Morale[1] is a mechanic in the Animus which tracks enemy archetypes' motivation to fight in open combat. The values only apply once the Animus host entered open combat, so any action performed before the initiation of combat did not affect the morale of the guards.[2][3][4][5]
https://assassinscreed.fandom.com/wiki/Morale
It was removed from AC3 and it unfortunately stuck.

How exactly? Visually speaking the game is dated. I hated the naval missions. Didn't you enjoy gathering resources and upgrading the Jackdaw loop?

I answered to what you described as good in those games in the post below yours.
I also apologize for the harsh language because just thinking and talking about this series and how it went to shit pisses me off. So much potential and it all got fucked.

>How exactly?
I'm autistic about historical authenticity and like "age of sail" ships. Everything about it is aracde-ish. Just seeing the way the cannons aim and all fire at once pisses me off because neither cannons work like that nor they shoot all at once but in turn. If they all shot at once the recoil would disrupt the balance of the ship. AC 3 got this right.
Moreover, your ships have no weight to them in 4, it's pretty much Initial D on water, you can drift wit them effortlessly. Aquila in 3 is a brig same as Jackdaw yet is very weighty and not as easy as Jackdaw to maneuver, so you have to actually be mindful of your movement.
Chain shots and heat shots from a gameplay standpoint are also far more effective and give you more incentives to use them but not depend on them.
I can go on and on but AC 3 is more like a simulator while AC 4 is more like an arcade.
>Didn't you enjoy gathering resources and upgrading the Jackdaw loop?
I didn't mind it at the time. It was okay and not particularly grind. Retrospectively, I hate it, because it exactly led to the absolute state of RPG grindfest that began with Unity and was fully formed in Origins.
