How do you make time to play vidya working 8 hours per day (not including transport time) 6 days a week without being tired
>>
Get a better job that's closer to home and where you work less

On the weekdays I game on my retro handhelds. I have an office job and use public transportation. I either read a book or game on one of these mfs. I only play PC games on the weekends. Gaming isn't my main hobby, reading is.

don't know, recently I made a "time audit" to see how much free time I actually have per day so I know if can reconnect with some of my hobbies. After careful calculations I ended up with 3 hours per day (it was closer to 4 but I wanted to be have some room to adapt); but somehow I just started to get busier with the exact same activities (like every task augmented in duration by 20%), now I'm lucky if I manage 30min per day. Shit really feels like the universe just doesn't want me to play guitar or finish any game.

he's actually hinting at the truth, you're selecting to spend time on /v/ instead of playing vidya

thats one of the things about video games
they fit into many different roles in your life.
wordle on the toilet, grinding a ranked ladder in counterstrike, grinding 100% in an open world game, gooning to modded skyrim....
i'm not saying you should download OSRS on your phone to fletch arrows at work, though that is of course an option
but try some new stuff out. break out of your current habits and spend your time differently. though the cause could of course be diet or health related.
it's clear to me that you are understimulated or you would not have been attention-seeking enough to post such a shitty thread on /v/

Fake gamer. Take this man's gamer pass away.
I bring my steamdeck to work so I can play Spectrobes.
Makes the shift go by faster.

I kinda miss working desu

12 hour night shifts are pretty sweet.

my friend used to do watch shifts when he served in the Navy and they never let him bring books or anything, he HAD to watch the place for hours on end. The most he could have was talking to another seaman watching with him if his shift had one.

Well no shit. Get a job where you have to patrol a shopping mall or something instead.

I don't know how you can get more based than that.

I've done the same math and yeah, 8 hrs sleep (hahaha) and 8 hrs work plus travel to and from and an hour minimum to get ready...18.5 hours of work/sleep.
That's 5.5 hours free time right?
Then you factor in things like dinner, shower, hygiene, etc.
The remaining time may as well not count because even if it's free, you aren't able to enjoy it at your 100% self.
You are likely tired or need to unwind by yourself, at least for my experience.
A game takes more effort to fully enjoy than some mindless scrolling.
Being in a relationship eats even the last bit of time often anyway...
The weekends where I'm home and she works are where games have the best chance to be played if I'm not doing a backlog of house chores...

Home office or playing emus on the phone at workm
I do two days of homeoffice a week where I rush through my work and just have to be on standby to play vidya.
Otherwise I wouldn't be able to. I get home, shop, cook, clean, eat, take care of the dog and than it's like 8pm and I rather exercise.
So it's 10pm when I get out of the shower and if you get older you become like a kid again that needs to get off the pc at least an hour before sleep or your sleep will be shit.
So you rather read or do something else like playing an Instrument.
So... the key to play vidya as an adult is to not work basically.
>>
>>741831749
I'm only working two days a week because of ongoing arm and neck issues, and it's only 11 minutes drive both ways. Feel like I've developed a real case of insomnia as a result though.
