>Alien species>it's just a multicolored human
Design something that's actually completely alien then if you're so great.
>Sex: the alien>cannot have sex with said alienThis pisses me off to no end.
>>741835179I don't care if they super alien or just painted humans. If they're cool and/or nice to me then I am happy.
>>741836109The lizard girl is hotter
>>741835179Is this one of those threads where faggots try to argue that they're cool because they can jack off to barely humanoid aliens even though it's all tryhard?
>>741836491No it's the thread where brown simps whine and complain that some people don;t find human women attractive
>>741836491I don't know. I think it comes natural to some.
>>741836797>You're brown because you're not only not a zoophile, you're not a xeno-zoophile like me! >brb going to jerk off to those alien beach emus from that abandoned alien dating vn because I'm so fucking contrarian and above humanity,
>>741835179>alien species>its just snake women>they're the best
>>741837063>tail wrappingyeah that soldier is doomed
>>741836109okay but your opinion is trash

>meanwhile in star trek online land>control a living being as a ship (again) is a thing
>>741836883No, because female Yautja have tits and the nerds who wanted to fuck them made this canon by having their babies dubbed "Sucklings" because they nurse.OP is the kind of fag who goes "Well that's too human for me!"
>>741835179Ah yes, my favorite sci fi trope.
I'm so annoyed we only got one ship per race in SC2.
>>741837504they will never be called yautjas until that term is used in a film, stop being a faggot
>>741838269>Predator: Badlands
>>741835179I partially get it, in that any space faring race would evolve in a way to use tools and such like humans, so apex species across the cosmos would be similar in nature but I do like having weirdo aliens even if it wouldn't quite make sense for them to evolve in ways that would encourage the creation of space flight.
Maybe Humans are similar to trees or crabs in the sense that many different lifeforms eventually resemble a tree or a crab, despite not being descended from a crab or one of it's ancestors? The design of Humans is honestly amazing. >We have feet, which act as an excellent body part to traverse large distances, because it's a natural spring>We have hands, which enable us to manipulate objects and make us one of the few animals capable of ranged combat, because we are very good at throwing stuff>sweat, instead of fur, enables us to have amazing endurance>arms in combination with using the rest of our bodies allow a tremendous amount of force to be concentrated to our hands or elbows, which can break bones of other animals and makes the use of hand weapons effective in the first place, since that amount of force can also extend to a sharp blade or spear point>bifurcated brain, which allows us to think rationally, despite being social animals governed by emotions and instinct
>>741838038You can always play another game with star ship
>>741835179they're allowed one or two non-human features that don't make them any less attractive
>>741839038It's the ratios of manipulators to brain power required for higher order functioning that results in the convergent evolution of space-faring species. The origins of organics is varied and diverse. The physics of orbits at the higher planes are not, so the evolutionary pressures mold those on their journey to the stars into similar shapes. >t. It was revealed to me in a dream.
>>741839882This is andorian now
>>741840294Forgot my pic like the retard dirtwalker I am.
>>741840341star trek is dead now, the wokemare is over
I love interplanetary immigrants
>>741835179goddamn the art design in this was so kino
>>741840341Why did they go back to the antenna being so high? The forehead design was better.
>>741835179Weren't Syreen supposed to have common origins with humanity, who got whisked away by Arilou to be modified on a separate world? If so then that completely justifies it.Also when's the new game coming out?
>>741840816Easier to animate
>>741841043Yes, humans and Syreen were both modified by the (((Arilou)))Also Syreen are a joke race, their ships are called penetrators.
>>741835179>>Alien species>>it's just a multicolored humanThank fuck for that. Watching floating toilets in Mass Effect was cringy shit. Whoever creates scifi or fantasy and they resort to making aliens which look like freaks and joke characters or caricatures has to be dropped from rooftops. If there are alien species, they most likely look bipedal because to invent technology you have to be a hunter which uses the least amount of energy to hunt and survive, which instantly disqualifies 99% of scifi alien designs.Making them hot alien babes is just further proof that the artist is not only not retarded but also smart because people will prefer to look at a woman instead of a talking toilet.
>>741841639Everything about SC2 is mostly a sci fi joke reference of the 50s-90s. The capt act like a sarcastic gen Xer for many of his dialogues.
>>741841658>To have technology you have to be a hunter. Not necessarily. You simply need to be from a lineage with limbs that can achieve tool manipulation, have the ground work for socialization and be exposed to the conditions that would select for using intelligence to adapt to changing environments.Humans are omnivores and out intelligence formed out of problem solving to find food in rapidly changing environments. In cephalopods though? Yeah it's more obvious the tentacles formed out out being a predator.
>>741835179>alien species>they're scottish space pteranodons with a pet race of GRORIOUS NIPPON RACCOON children
>>741841772That's why I dont like it. It veers too hard into comedy / parody and then you have some of the best written and acted parts with the ur-quan it makes you feel like whiplash
>>741835179>he's STILL whining about space babesanon they're pretty much a dead concept
>>741841658I like both hanar and asari, smug jellyfish are fun
>setting has aliens>not a single one joins your party or can be romanced
I wish the devs would shut the fuck up on their kickstarter about how much they love troons and darkies. We get it, work on the fucking game.I'm glad I didn't give them money now but geez.
>>741843868>Setting has aliens>But they're just dumb animals, no sentient speciesFuck starfield, they had ONE job, just make TES but in space
>>741835179>setting has aliens>their just multicoloured humans >turns out some precursor civilisation took a fancy to humans and transformed all the surrounding species into a bunch of hotties for them>leave mental triggers in all of them to make them slobbering sycophants at the mere sight of a human>everything within a 100 light years of Sol is the galactic equivalent of a brothel
>>741837492Not enough media in general (let alone vidya specifically) explores this kinoest of concepts
>fucking love star control 2>have never finished itsorry for being a poser......
>>741844361There isn't enough Space fic in general, probably why people hang on to Star Trek (Online), EVE and Star Citizen so closely
>>741835179>aliens are just humans with slight differences SOVL
Because if you were given anything more you'd go carrots.
>>741844164Genuinely couldn't believe how boring of a setting they chose to make.
>>741844361I love Xev Bellringer.
I love blue aliens
>>741844361>>741845339>you will never shower together with ZevWhy even live?
>>741835179If you see this in modern stuff it's really just an homage to 50s and 60s sci-fi.
you wouldn't fuck an Elowan, would you?
>>741843909yeah im worried about how much that'll bleed into the game.
>>741837213I vaguely remember reading this, it's got 2 books related to it, and the main character in both doesn't boink the catgirls, of which 2 were interested...and instead fucks a literal cavewoman and some random chick who appears later with some pirates(?) who were looking to poach rare as hell ancient animals, and kzinti, because they were on some kind of alien nature preserve.
>>741839038>Humans
>>741836595Pretty kitty
>>741846772That was my thought. Even if the story sucks, I hope melee will be good since I might be able to get people to try it who can't figure out how to set up UQM melee since the interface will be much easier for them. I only discovered this series a couple years ago when there was that sticky'd Ur-Quan thread and I was born in '99, way after the game came out, so I didn't have to wait as much as you boomers did for it. It depends how thick they lay it on but I am similarly worried.
>>741845515Na'vi are just recolored humabs
>>741849048Not true
>>741835897
>>741836109>nice to me you are aware that they are actually not real and dont talk to you, right anon?
>>741841658> to invent technology you have to be a hunterThere's no proof of this, it's just what happened with us, we don't have any more examples. And one of the most intelligent and tool-adjacent earth creatures are elephants, which are herbivores. Crows, octopi, dolphins, dolphins, pigs, chimps, orangutangs, dogs, all extremely intelligent, all with varied diets.
>>741847352why I am so piglike?
We can't have cool things because coomers exist.
>>741849520True, coomers that think they're women are ruining the world
>>741836109Aisha Sex-Sex
>>741842061god i love tateoftot's art
>>741839038>>741840294I recommend you watch this talk as it covers this topic pretty well, especially from this point onwards:https://youtu.be/GuRllHHu7No?t=977The gist of it is that it is flawed thinking to asume that our bodyplan would be the standard for sapient civilization building life when our bodyplan is a result of a very specific evolutionary pathway. For an alien species to be humanoid like we are, their evolutionary history would have to be nigh identical to ours.Crabs serve as a poor example because all the animals that have convergently evolved into the crab like bodyplan firstly are decapods and thus part of the same overall group of animals, and in general share overall similar evolutionary pressures which have led to that bodyplan, as it is very useful in the niches these animals occupy. Our bodyplan in contrast, has essentially only arisen once in the entire history of life on earth. Not even our closest primate relatives have the same fully upright bodyplan we have because the evolutionary path that led to us becoming what we are was contingent on very specific environmental pressures and adaptations our ancestors evolved to face those pressures. It would be highly unlikely for alien lifeforms to have undergone the same evolutionary pathways as we did. Thus hot green space babes are basically restricted to the domain of pulp scifi/science fantasy type of stuff rather than any realistic scifi that attempts to actually take the topic of alien lifeforms seriously.
