Cloud struggles with identity, by giving up his ego he is able to become stronger.Sephiroth just accepted a lie about his identity and let his Ego take over.But lorewise hes like an unstoppable SOLDIER that more-or-less won the war against Wutai. He's the perfect hybrid of some uber alien and he basically overrides her will and controls her cells for his own pursuits like summoning a giant magic meteor or unleashing the Kaiju WEAPONS. Sephiroth is just a menace
