Any other kinos like this?
Sadly no, its really one of a kind
I can't stomach any other crafting game long enough to find out honestly. Literally the only one to hook me.
>>741835516Is this multiplayer slop?
>>741835732Yes.
>>741835732I played it in singleplayer
>>741835732You can play solo and optionally, you can make the game worse by adding friends to the experience to ruin all the pacing and talk over the lore
>>741835732its a single player game with a multiplayer option (dont play it multiplayer)
how long till the dlc?
something about these types of games (valheim, abiotic, palworld) always feels too jank to meit's so hard to get the feeling right on ALL of these in a single game>inventory management>movement>melee combat>ranged combat>basebuilding>progression mechanicsthey all tend to feel a little unloved because developer attention is just spread so thin.and to top it all off the genre conventions are terrible>progression locked behind specific crafting stations and materials that the player will always receive in a set order>carry a mountain of possibly-useful-one-day items with you until the end of time>the same 2 bad crafting systems (scroll through a giant list of craftable items split into sometimes arbitrary categories, or remember the exact combination of items you need to craft something)>stat progression systems that lock you out of experimenting with equipment without a huge time investment (and likely trivializing the difficulty of part or all of the game)i think abiotic factor is one of the better ones, because it commits hard to the rigid progression system in its design. what good is procedurally generating a map when players progress in the exact same way every time
>multiplayer is fun but your only chances of it being good is by either making everyone leashed tightly to the active host, or after completing the game onceYou would think they'd have thought of a system where everyone has to get together and agree to progress the story instead of just having people slam buttons and dialogue without thinking.
>>741838082I'd kinda like that for some groups of shitheads. Maybe a sandbox setting that's a slider about what percentage of people need to be there for major story events, since some people do just AFK and say "go on without me, I've seen it and I've got cooking to do".
Last for Bigfoot is the worst thing in the entire game and ruined Residence sector
>>741835687I'm kind of the same way. I've played some that have better building mechanics, but AF has easily been the best at keeping things from getting too stale too quickly.
>>741845808My honest assessment is that all such games are going to have a slow start and learning curve where nothing has clicked yet, but Abiotic Factor is the one that had enough novelty and mystique to draw us in past that phase of gameplay where the hook starts to land and the tasks start going somewhere.
>>741836485Despite being referred to as a "summer" update it's likely not releasing until August.
>early game10/10>mid game6/10 to 5/10>late game1/10
>>741835516Kino**Up to hydroplant, then it goes to shit.
>>741836485November, most likely
>>741835732>one of the few good games to come out>hurr durr slop amirite
>>741850947Nah, after Hydro it nosedives with bullet sponge enemies and a ridiculous resource grind.
>>741851812Bullet sponges started to appear at hydro tho
Is the VotV area worth a look?
>>741853365Yeah, you can get a free microwave (reskinned oven) and some cosmetics. Its pretty boring otherwise.
>>741836872>inventory management>movement>melee combat>>ranged combat>basebuilding>progression mechanicsdragonwilds
>>741851812Yeah just hit reactors myself and gatekeepers fucking suck, literally need to charge my deatomizer i just crafted every couple of minutesAnd then i did some peeking at the wiki to see if i can disable their shields and you can but the grenades to do so need a lot of rare resources
>>741850947Reactors.
