Have you ever cheated in a video game?What compells someone to cheat?
YeahIn a multiplayer game? noI did try to cheat in maplestory when I was like 12 though because there was so much grinding and all the cosmetics were paid. I didn't find anything that worked.

I gave myself the maximum prestige rank in Call of Duty 2 Modern Warfare and I regret it to this day. After I saw it worked, I refused to ever start the game again in fear of getting banned and having a permanent stain on my account. It really didn't give me any satisfaction and was a hollow achievement.

If I really like and respect the game, I'll play it legit, but there's even games that I've played otherwise legit that I've cheated to get through bits that were stupid and tedious (Kamikichi's latest game, the plant growing for example). Turning an 8hr RPGMaker game into a 1-2hr one is almost always an improvement.

I installed free_hax.exe in cs 1.6 like the retarded teenager i was and got banned pretty quick. beyond that i only ever did it in singleplayer games.
Only in single-player titles, and usually it's just to go out-of-bounds and see how the game was put together, or how fantastically it might break when you trigger events out of order.
