Riot's kernel level anti-cheat "Vanguard" now has an on-demand mode, which means it doesn't need to be running in the background at all times, but only when a game is running. in order to activate it you need to meet the security requirements:

>Update to at least Windows 11 25H2. Windows 11 first requires the following:
>Enable UEFI Mode and Secure Boot
>Enable Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (TPM)
>An updated BIOS may be necessary
>Use Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity (HVCI)
>Enable Input-Output Memory Management Unit (IOMMU)

Why should anyone care? I haven't played a single riot game since 2018 because they are all shit. I kinda wanted to try the LoL brawl mode a year or so ago but I'm not gonna install malware on my system just to play vidya. Besides, I migrated to Linux 2 years ago so even if I was dumb enough to play LoL I still wouldn't beable to.
