why are they remaking and remastering every single game in existence? you dont remake food or remaster books all the time
>>741853075Because the industry is creatively bankrupt, the budgets for new games have ballooned to an unsustainable level and developers are just incompetent in general, but remastering old games is quick, easy and cheap and there's plenty of retards saying "I don't want to spend a couple of minutes installing a fan patch so I'm willing to pay 30 bucks to rebuy a game I already own" so it's basically free money.Hope this helps.
>>741853075Because easier access to self-publishing and the widespread availability of literature to plebes means that publishers can't act as gatekeepers led by interest groups anymore, and instead they must actively dilute the cultural impact and ideas of works. This can be seen in the dichotomy of how Animal Farm's ideas were stymied prior to the book's publishing (by simply denying Orwell access to a publisher until he strips out the anti-communist rhetoric) versus how they are stymied today (remaking his work and stripping out all the anti-communist rhetoric).Large publishers are fundamentally non-producing entities and that is to the liking of the governments and interest groups that empower them.
