Saw it was more movie like game, then wondered what game it reminded me of, then suddenly recalled Starcraft 2, basically the same method of portraying a story in between levels.
The voice acting is exactly what it's supposed to be. The original voice acting was exaggerated as fuck, too. People were making jokes out of Rick May's lines as Peppy because they were really stupid, not because they thought he did a good job. Do I like the new voice lines as much? No. They went with an overused anime dub style of voice overacting instead of a western cartoon style.

Just played through my first campaign.GOOD>gameplay is largely unchanged from SF64. Even nearly 30 years later, the run-and-gun space shooting is still tried and true>the visuals look great>Music is good>the added cutscenes are nice, and it's good they change depending on what previous missions you were on>Holoviewer is fantastic world-building stuff. Reminds me a lot of the Pikilopedia from Pikmin, love that shit. Also kept some references from Assault and Command (Peppy is stated to be a husband and father, Slippy's dad is still named Beltino, etc.)>Challenge Mode is really fun and can be pretty, well, challenging even for Star Fox vets, so the replay value is even higher>when you complete the campaign, the flight back to Corneria takes you past the planets you visited, which is a nice touch>I actually like Katt's new voice compared to her old oneNEUTRAL>as much as people have memed about the new designs, I don't mind them for the most part, though i hope they get more refined going forward>Haven't tried multiplayer yetBAD>for the most part, the voice acting and dialogue is definitely a step down and nowhere near as memorable>there's little to no reaction to anything getting shot.
