>grabs you
>prawns you
>just stunlock the gigantic sea creature with a handheld stun gun and kill it with a knifeSay what you will about the faggot Communist devs, their reasoning is wrong, but their conclusion is right. This is bullshit and you know it!
>>741875073Lovingly?
>>741877451Doing the>get grabbed>jump out>whip out knife>stab fucker to death before it crushes your shipis a lot harder in VR. But way more fun and intense.
>>741875073would have been scarier if they gave it arms instead of grabbers
>>741877451The faggot communist devs own incompetence was the reason it could happen in the first place, the stasis rifle's description states that it will not function correctly if aimed at too large things, yet they failed to implement this clearly intended feature. There would be nothing wrong with the stasis rifle if it could only stun creatures that are fully enveloped in its bubble.
>>741875073>grabs you while the game is loading after phasing through a mountain in an area its not supposed to exist in a game that never figured out auto saves
>reach deep as fuck part, swimming in the voidthat alone creeps me the fuck out
>>741878673>save right before descending down a dark pit>game saved>hear a loud as fuck roar the moment I start moving
>>741878673The Reaper is so incredibly overrated, though. It almsot never kills the Seamoth with a single attack, and it doesn't even 1hit the player. It gets scared away by the defense module and gets clowned on by the stasis rifle. What else do you need? And yet, people never talk about the actual menace, dare I say, broken cancer enemy that is pic related.>teleports you out of your prawn suit while blinding you>does as much damage as the reaper with a single swipe>may or may not teleport you into a lava stream>your prawn may or may not fall into the lava>may or may not teleport you in front of the jaw of the sea dragon>teleports you out a denghasi base through the wall>almost impossible to actually kill>swarming at every important location
>>741879328Those things are jobbers. The Crabsquid are way worse because they drain your batteries and are scary motherfuckers to begin with.
>>741879651The batteries are not permanently drained and they have like fuck all aggro range unless you actually shine a light on them. And there's like 8 of them in the entire game. Worst comes worst, they are easily killed. They are only really an issue at the reef denghasi base, because sometimes they attack your seamoth while its empty. Meanwhile there are 8 warpers at every deep sea chokepoint and they start blasting at you from like 40 meters.
>>741879912I've beaten the game maybe 10 times and never had any trouble from the warpers except occasionally getting teleported when I'm trying to metagame and rush stuff like Magnetite early and go down without a vehicle.Actually, even worse than the warpers or crabsquid are those little fucks that latch onto your vehicles in the lava zone. Screw them and how much they like to hide out of sight.
Doing my first playthrough and I've reached a point where I'm completely reliant on blind luck in order to advance the story, had to look up what I'm missing and the only two places I haven't visited it yet are some lava zone that's at like 1000m+ depth and an island with another denghasi base. Are you supposed to scan for these locations and have the cameras lead you to them? Because they do fuck-all if I "scan" for something
>>741879328subnautica made me realize i am just scared of loud sounds. playing subnautica below zero (story turned off). all the enemies are loud as fuck but ultimately do nothing, and i know that but i'm still crawling around like a cockroach.the other enemies arent intimidating. ghost leviathan and the sea dragon should make me piss my pants but they aren't yelling at me. no enemy in the first game has terrified me more than the reaper. the way the sea changes colors around them and going from echoes to something much closer, what a nightmare of an enemy
>>741880568scan yourself again to remind you of the main plot and assume you really need to go deeper
>>741879328Agreed, these fuckers are why I wouldn't ever do a hardcore run. Along with the glitch that always plagues me of falling through the floor in the Prawn Suit.
>>741880835I know I'm supposed to cure myself, but I have no idea where I need to go
>>741880568You're kind of meant to get there by exploration, but it can be a hit or a miss.
>>741878507Logically the stasis rifle should be completely fatal to anything larger than its bubble, because there's no reason the bubble should be ineffective on a creature that's too large. It should stasis the parts in the bubble and if the rest of the creature tries to move it'll rip itself apart. To say nothing of whatever shock it would cause to have only half your circulatory system or nervous system hit by a stasis field.
>>741881113you need to go deeper, you need the items that let you go deeper. maybe you are missing a cave or 3. do you have cyclops yet? you don't need to scan anything with cameras but maybe a scanner room in the right plrce could show you something
>>741875073>Game model compared to the character is around about as big as a sperm whale>Listed length is 55mDevs are retarded pseuds.
>>741875647>excited to finally craft it>it's slow and clunky as fuck >write it off, start working on getting the cyclops>it's an even bigger piece of shit
>>741882793>can't into prawnBrainlet confirmed.>then can't into cyclopsActual mouthbreathing retard confirmed.
>>741875073*unzip dick*
>>741880401Funny how playstyles determine what people suffer from moss. By bane really were Warpers. Oh, and Bonesharks, because they attack the empty seamoth while I'm inside a wreck. Lava shitters? Not once. That is because of my 4 playthroughs I have yet once to take the Cyclops down to the lava zone. I just go in with prawn, get kyanite, craft heat power plant, no issues from there on. I'd imagine you use the Cyclops more; Warpers really aren't a big deal when you are in it, but larvae are.
This game needed actual combat.Like a final confrontation against a Warper trying to attack your launch pad.
>>741882983NTA, but driving the cyclops is awful after getting used to the seamoth. You can't look down because of the steering wheel, so you need to use the shitty outside cameras, which is fine when there's light, but in dark areas its just a blind drop. There's a line between being clunky, slow and blind adding to the atmosphere and it just being annoying, and the cyclops definitely falls on the annoying sideDiscovering that you can just brute force the cyclops through mostly anything helps though.
>>741882793Prawn is boring, Cyclops is amazing once you realize you can build stuff in it.
>>741875073>*Fires Vortex Torpedo*
>>741881091The Prawn through the floor is no big deal though. It's annoying but just hopping out and repairing it when it inexplicably freezes mid-fall will let you ride it to max depth and get sent back to the surface.
>>741875073>subnautica 2>defending yourself.. le bad
>>741879328Giant purple cuntflaps. Treat them like glowing CIANs and run them over with your sub. Bully them with the Scanning Room drone. Just go straight for them and stab them in their face. They pussy out and teleport away the moment they get so much as a boo-boo and leave your alone.
>>741888465I'm the opposite. I liked the Prawn Suit a lot more once I got the Jump Upgrade and the Grappling Hook, but I never cared much for the Cyclops.
>>741887489The Cyclops is a mobile base. You carry the seamoth inside of it
>>741896140dont you need the prawn suit to mine anything worthwhile past a certain depth?
Fish arent scary if you give them natural angry eyes. Blank, souless circles are more creepier.
>>741881113.........deeper.do you not have the section in your "clues and hints" that tells you the depth of many useful-sounding nearby facilities? you should have received this when you visited the gun building after the rescue ship gets shot down.
