>Effective August 1, 2026, we will be updating prices worldwide. Thprice of XBOX consoles will increase by US$100 for 512 GB models and US$150 for 1 TB models. We will also be sunsetting our 2 TB model.

Good news for if you wanted to buy a cheap Xbox before GTAVI comes out.

>>
>>741876824
I don't think they are, I think they're just increasing the price of their remaining stock in case anyone wants to buy one for GTA 6. Microsoft is so focused on AI, that I'm not sure they'd want to give up millions of sticks on RAM to even release a new console any time soon.
>>

Found the problem with your line of logic.

If MS were smart they'd announce a discount right before VI comes out, because a lot of people were still waiting for VI to come out before buying a next gen console. If Sony were smart they'd announce a cheap ass GTAVI bundle. But neither are smart.

Presumably, they order small volumes at a time to avoid storing millions of unsold units in warehouses, so they naturally have to renegotiate the prices more often than Nintendo/Sony do, that's probably why Nintendo and Sony are able to hold off a little longer on raising console prices. Ps5 has seen better real world performance than the series X in game benchmarks. That's not even including the pro which you might want to get depending on how it's enhanced. The Tesla "Colossus" AIML supercomputer has... 26,910,000 GB of RAM in it. So, y'know, more than one million desktops. And it's not at full capacity yet, it might be 4x that size next year. That's one building, for one company.

PS exclusives are better.
Xbox missed out on key releases or the games came years later. Stellar Blade still not on Xbox, FF came 5 years late. You should not underestimate the power of most multiplats are always between maybe and never for Xbox. You see a trailer for a cool game and no Xbox logo. Do you want to play Yakuza games 15 years later? FF five years later?
Xbox kept making empty promises for their userbase. There is near zero trust in anything the leadership says. Asha kept doing what Phil did. Fake smile then murder. Anyone who still has an Xbox essentially playing russian roulette. MS can pull the plug at ANY moment.
Also the price hikes sealed the fate of the system forever. The hikes are not only crazy large but always keep the system well above the Playstation offerings.Who the fuck buys a $800 PS5 equivalent Xbox when the PS5Pro is around that?

Memes aside PS5 had Ratchet and Demon souls when Xbox had nothing. Look at the Series catalog. It is Forza Horizon and a bunch flops and garbage. The output of Sony is abysmal but the Xbox output is straight up garbage. I have both consoles, I had Xbox since the OG came out and it is fucking over since "just 4 games" in 2024. Phil hid what he could as long as he could and now MS is cleaning house. They gave up on hardware (the next one is out of the budget of the current userbase already), games came too late and multiplat (Gears changes nothing) and people outside the Xbox ecosystem have no fucking idea how bad the users are treated.
Xbox games came out unfinished with 30fps only modes for years. Now that they sell them on PS there is a 60fps mode. We now know this actually only happened because they started running their AA games on AAA budget. Game Pass stalled out and held up by the console userbase who will not pay a dime more so no growth potential. The GP offerings are thinner and thinner every month.
Anyone who believes Xbox will survive their next hardware launch IF there will be a next hardware (guess why Sarah then Asha had to reaffirm the pubic numerous times about the Helix while no one is doubting the PS6 or Switch 3) are in for a rude awakening.

Anon, the Steam Machine is sold *at cost* for $1050 using last gen GPU tech and 2 gen old CPU tech, PS6 and the next Xbox are going to be $1300 minimum, with the machines costing probably $1700 a piece to actually produce.

Aside from the obvious "take up drawing/music/writing" or physical hobbies like sports or hiking, I'd say for slash vee slash...maybe model kits?
Unlike what anon said, TCGs are still mostly playable with a budget if they have structure decks.
Model kits, as above, range in price abd take a while if you want to perfect it
Reading, whether regular books, light novels, manga, etc. is always a good time

The crazy part is that the Internet became exactly as valuable in about 2015 as money burning retards imagined it was gonna be in 2000

If AI follows the same trajectory, then the "bubble" will pop soon, and the real nightmare will come a few years AFTER that
>>
>>741882978
We're not going back to anything, the idea of a personal computer is done. They're going to rent us computing power we'll use over the cloud. Part of the reason AI is currently so cheap, despite it's cost and the fact it doesn't actually make any money is they want you to be so dependent on it for your day to day life they can charge you to rent their closed AI platforms of the future, the government and big business are already there.
>>
>>741884841
The dot com bubble happened because people saw this new tech, imagined it was the future and immediately invested billions in it even though the hardware and tech wasn't quite there yet. Is the industry telegraphing there won't be another console GEN at all unless the AI bubble burst so tragically data centers sell Ram at a loss?
Because the reason this is happening is because Crucial seriously crippled the market to gauge up the prices.
RAM could still be produced normally and the demand of Data Centers is not nearly that monstrous to state all silicon on the planet has been depleted.
Following Crucial every manufacturer limit their RAM production to ride on the AI gravy train, jacking up prices to make every happy merchant simultaneously cum.
Now what follows is an environment where everyone will have to make due with what they got already until 2030.
The only bright side to this is that Tim Sweeney will sweat when developers stop using UE altogether since UE slop games will be largely unplayable in this environment.

Nintendo kids have it the worst

Like, the switch 2 at 500$ is more affordable than the ps5 at 650$, but kids are fucked. Switch lite was a godsend for everyone I know with kids. Now a console is 500$ per kid. Nintendo's business model right now is gearing the same way as Disney's, squeezing money out of adults with an endless amount of love for your brand, but when those people start to burn out or simply die....... yeah I see why they're pivoting to movies. Everything in gaming sucks because of politics now, even prices

They're literally prideful and delusional enough that they think people are going to sell organs to pay for their entertainment addictions. The atosecond people realize entertainment is inherently worthless like the former Nintendo boss said it's all over for the tech companies

again? i thought this woman was supposed to save the company

All you cocksuckers that celebrated this talmudic invention because Twitter trannies were upset about art theft deserve to be priced out of your hobby like this. Fuck you all.

At this point i don't even know what to go to school for, the future is so uncertain and everything just seems shit

That's why AI was is an issue beyond left and right. You're literally pro humanity or against it at this point

They figured out long ago, but really mastered their craft during occupy on how to turn fucking everything into a fringe political issue to get the slaves fighting
>>

You ever just see something and see the death of a company? Unironically this will kill xbox people only bought it because it was a cheap lazy man's pc.

Buying a Series X was a better investment for me than any crypto shit.

I'm not a waitfag anymore. I guess I will buy a switch 2 now. I'm actually scared of price increases. Snoys should do the same.

>$750 for an XSX
>$800 for a 1TB XSX

OH MY SCIENCE! WAIT UNTIL I GO TO REDDIT AGAIN THIS!

This would fucking erase Sony. Open up Xboxes to windows and start selling the console for a profit. It need to be more than just a "gaming" device. The cost is way too prohibitive for gaming to be its only use.

I blame her

The tech industry is having to raise prices every year now because of the AI problems, but mostly RAM, but that is due to AI. It's possibly we'll start seeing price hikes on lots of things every year so companies can keep up and make a profit. The consumers are the ones taking the bullet. Nintendo is raising the price of Switch 2's by $50 on September 1st. I'm sure Sony will announce another price hike for Playstation consoles in 2027, possibly before then.

We have been trying to warn you since they first started putting in microtransactions but all you cucks kept saying it wasn't a big deal

Storage is also now a huge problem. Even regular magnetic HDDs have doubled in price.

If they bump the PS5 Pro to $1200, the PS6 won't be a dime under $1500.
>>
>>741897772
I said this for a while.
I love making shitlib artists mad, but I did not think signing over creativity to the algorithm and AI slop to be a good trade off.
>>741900764
Storage is almost even worse imo.

I work in a big toy store in the UK and we don't sell consoles very quickly at all. Maybe a couple of each per week.
>>
>>741897242
Hey. A cheap PC or used console can provide a fuckton of fun. Lowend PCs can still play indies. Sad for the fatherless children though. Tf are they gonna do?

lol lmaoing

It was a Win98 and a Sega Genesis plus an Xbox hueg a few years later, so fuck yeah we had a lot of fun. Stuff doesn't happen nowadays though. People are too busy hawking their old stuff on ebay instead of letting their niece and nephew have it for $20.
