>>741894771I actually feel that was one of the more interesting parts of the plot, especially with how her ninja apprentice turned out to be a massive Jin fanboy, which was a nice throwback to the first game. Plus, she actually tried to save Atsu and her brother, so forgiving her feels a bit more earned. In fact, I feel the did a good job honouring Jin by giving him the legacy as “the first ninja”. I don’t think there was really anything woke about the game aside from Atsu’s actress being a woke individual in her personal life. I’m more taking about the third act where she spares The Snake despite him being an unrepentant evil bastard. Her sparing the remainder of her family’s killers just because “killing bad” feels tone deaf and also a complete departure from the first game, where Jin getting revenge was seen as a good thing.
