If you somehow haven't bought BallisticNG or played it, I can't recommend it enough. It can be pretty brutal on higher difficulties and on specific tracks, but its for me, the best racing game on steam. I'm pretty sure I've seen anons recommend it a number of times, but it deserves it. You can get custom ships and tracks and sounds and import your FLACs/MP3s for custom music too if you're really just wanting "WipEout on the PC". All the main development has been complete on it.

If all you want is a Skyrimish "fuck about in the woods killing bandits and selling their shit" game without wanting to care too much it's solid. Combat's fun, the map has a lot of neat vignettes to explore, the story has a lot of variant sidequest endings and missable stuff but none of it actually matters. The first area is the best and it sorta devolves from there, but on the whole I'd recommend it if you like that sort of RPG.
