What causes this phenomenon?
Unironically not trying to troll here, why PS games are all these over-the-shoulder pretentious movie games? Like is there actually demand for these or are they easy to market?

I'm serious.
Basically when MGS1 was made, it was a 'movie in.. video game'. MGS2 and around 80% of it was focus on 'cinema' and a few bits of the new physics involved. Also Kojima claimed Snake was the main character the player plays as despite being in a 30 minute section.
MGS3 was even worse.
MGS4 was more movie than fucking gameplay

So now you know.
MGS was one of the big reasons to get a Playstation 3 after launch since the ps3 launch was so bad like ps4 and ps5
