Isn't it funny how the games that get praised for having the best game design are almost always the really popular ones from well known brandsEven if those games have lesser known competitors who build upon the formula or replicate it perfectly, their reception always has caveats like "it doesn't *feel* right" or "the devs just don't *get* it" as if the brand is the magic ingredient that makes the games goodIn every other medium and art form it's basically accepted that the popular stuff is slop and it's never brought up in serious discussions
