What are games where you actually go through mazy corridors, look for secrets and keep track of your map.

Been on the hook for this very specific kinda game.
Only thing I found recently was ultima underworld, but the controls make it a tough sell.

any of those classic dungeon crawlers i guess and castlevania has a good amount of secrets.

maybe teleglitch if you can handle the difficulty and real time. it has good shooting and sound design.
maybe iji if you like metroid combined with system shock 2's stat system

SS2 kinda felt linear from memory.
Kingsfield looks good to try out though.

Really like the general map design and gameplay of SS1, reminds me a lot of OG dnd.

this. Check out traditional roguelikes. It's kinda different because they are procedurally generated, but I suspect many people will like both genres
