I made an account and I was pretty happy with it at first but then the mods started to powertrip randomly around me for no particular reason, now I hate them with a passion even if I still like the idea of the website

Doing RA on your first playthrough would be kinda lame but on a game you've already replayed it's a great way to add some challenge to it.

>>741905190It's REALLY dependent on who makes the sets, honestly. There are some really good, fun ones that are balanced (Dragon Quest, Spyro series comes to mind) and then there are just fucking terrible ones that are only made for speedrunning autists. Thankfully they've been doing a good job cleaning up those terrible sets or removing absolutely bullshit achievements. The best set I've played so far was the DK3 one, mostly because it has a lot of fun challenges like completing a level without hitting bonus rooms, or finding them all, or trying to avoid bananas.

This is a convenient retro-tracker that FORCES YOU TO DISABLE the MAIN GRIPES of experiencing games through modern emulation, that is, save-states, rewind etc. Going solely for completion status in hardcore mode and maybe picking up a few collateral chieves is the optimal way to use this shit. Also, some achievements are educational in the sense they clue you in on details or mechanics you may neglect.
