This releases in 2 weeks and I haven’t seen a single thread since it was announced. Anybody buying?
Already did. Got it for like $9 on a key site.
>>741912397There's just something off about the dark ages. I loved 2016 and Eternal but I haven't been able to finish the dark ages after trying 4 separate times
>>741912397>$9 at the grey marketOof
No thanks
>>741912397>oh that happened the game
>>741912397I thought The Dark Ages was fun but after I beat the campaign I didn't feel like playing it anymore. I haven't seen anything to convince me to buy and play the DLC.
>>741913301That was me with eternal. The shitty online kinda killed it for me while I played a shit ton of 2016 online.
>>741912397I see it more as an obligation 2bh. Nu-Doom has overall been vaporware in the grand scheme of the genre's trajectory, but that's how it's been since the early 2000s.
>>741913674Id's excuse that every game they made was a tech demo is hilarious
I can't get anyone to care about the base game.Retards.
>>741913909If only. The only tech that has any real significance to the gameplay has been here forever. What's in Eternal? The enemy models flake off with damage? And Dark Ages can't run on most people's machines so the devs have an easier time with level design? What's that matter when the levels are all less interesting than wads from 20 years ago?
>>741912397I'm standing and fighting
This is the last doom game we’re going to see for 10+ years
>>741916626this.>no where left to go with their new lore (we're just seeing stuff that was spoken about in Doom 2016, Eternal ended with SATAN dead. its over)>no where left to go with the gameplay (Eternal was the peak of nu-doom gameplay, TDA was trying to be different but the DLC is just backpedaling)>no where left to go with the graphics (Raytracing is pretty but runs like shit. Eternal ran perfectly on mid-range hardware)>no where left to go with the music (Mick Gordon is gone and Bobby Prince is dead. Finishing Move only had one or two interesting tracks in the whole game of TDA)I expected a Quake reboot by now. It's a much more loose IP. You can make it sci-fi or fantasy, campaign or multiplayer focused, invent new characters, enemies, etc. and just call it "Quake". Nobody would mind.
>>741916626If this garbage slop is what they're currently into then that's a good thing.
>>741917927Dark Ages is already a Quake reboot, the second half of the game is just straight up slipgate level fuckery
The base game wasnt that bad, except for the objectively bad dragon and mech parts. But it was in almost every way a step down from eternal. The only things i remember from the dlc trailer were new weapons and mechanics that attempt to make it more like eternal. So why the fuck didnt they start from that and build on it? Im over it.
>>741918042>garbage slopDA isn’t slop
>>741916626Good, 2016 was mediocre and Eternal and Dark Ages were slop for reddit numalesLet it die
>>741917927If they really wanted to keep milking nu-Doom they could obviously still contrive some sort of interquel connecting 2016 and Eternal since most of what took place was left blank
>>741912397Supposedly the game sucked according to many here.
ID Software really became total shit after Bethesda bought it eh
