I miss being pro-Nintendo.

it was partially a marketing gimmick and partially an assurance that the cartridge was an official Nintendo licensed cartridge that would work in your NES. it was never a quality seal based on the fucking garbage that could get a seal.

It wasn't E.T. that sunk Atari, it was ten games getting released each week that weren't worth the 2kb of code on the cartridge. Consumers didn't trust they could just go buy a game and not get ripped off with garbage.

You posted the revised version without the "of quality" part which just meant "the game was tested and works on our system" since they used to put the seal on absolute shovelware and couldn't pretend anymore.
