I just wish there was a difficulty between Standard and Insanity, The Girl wasn't as scripted and on rails, and Grace got another big area to explore plus another weapon type besides the pistol, requiem, and bottles. It's the only game that even comes close to scratching the RE2 Remake itch I have. I think it has the best art direction in an RE Engine game yet, it really nails the balance between having bright vivid colorful environments and still having them be terrifying and moodyIMO I think everybody knowing that CV Remake was coming in 2027 has been a big part of the hype dying so soon. We knew CV was coming even before the reveal so even the moment RE9 came out the conversation was already shifting to things like "I bet Claire's sections in CV will be Grace's and Chris' will be like Leon's"

Grace's kit is extremely limited and level progression is linear so the player is never really making any real choices. Leon's combat arenas are some of the worst in the entire series with drab and boring art direction. Shooting zombies doesn't feel good, insanity mode is entirely built around trying to trigger context sensitive hatchet kills as quickly as possible which removes all options and choice from the player during gameplay. No reason to replay, limited bonus content, their "mercenaries" stand in is probably the worst minigame this series has ever put out since they started with these battle game modes. I'm convinced that the only reason people like it is because of the presentation (which has always been phenomenal in the RE engine era games) and because Grace makes their pp hard

>>741924125Fine. It's far from perfect. The replayability is terrible thanks to the opening hotel and the orphanage. Racoon City is a pretty bland mcguffin chase. And both Leon and Grace could have used about 40 minutes to 1 hour of more of gameplay each, and the Ark would have been a perfect place to do it. But all that being said, yeah, it's pretty good for what it is, and better than anything else so far this year.

I loved it but let's be honest, it's going to be GTA and it'll most likely be deserved too.
I really enjoyed RE9, but GTA VI is a different monster altogether. The entire industry moved their game schedules as to not compete with GTA VI. There is virtually nothing releasing in November except for GTA VI. Some publishers pushed their games back and others bumped them up. It takes quite a lot of publicity and fame to have that kind of effect on the entire industry. Nobody wants to launch a game in November as it will be overshadowed completely by GTA VI, even a popular or anticipated game wouldn't go against GTA VI because it would lose, and most publishers know that. I don't even like GTA; I'm just stating facts.

My favorite sections were the forced sniper mission, the Grace outhouse mission where you ride an elevator, the 10 mijute long on rails motorcycle section and the completely empty Racoon City PD.Paired really well with the shittier parry system from Remake 4
