Voice acting is simply a lost art especially in the west. Modern voice actors are theatre kid trans rights activists who get recruited by bullying studios into hiring them by starting boycotts on bluesky. There is no way for a studio to have good voice acting anymore.

I deliberately chose not to buy it because the voice acting and voice direction was THAT bad. I don't even mind the changed visuals, but the voice acting is so iconic and important to Star Fox 64 that making everything flat and non-hammy just ruins the game for me. Star Fox was always a mishmash of serious theming with silly elements, you play as woodland animals wearing clothes in space fighters.Even SF643D had better performances than this.
