>>741932347
played this before. it is fun, but it does not feel like the game is balanced around your movement abilities. the upgrades you make are at your discretion, so it feels like the game is balanced around not having any upgrades at all. once you get a few, you can start skipping much of the platforming challenges they've cooked up just by using the upgraded movement capabilities. still, it feels great to swing around. it's fairly short, too, so it isn't like you are going to be playing for 40 hours trying to 100% it. humor is decent but crude, there are literal pieces of shit as enemies.

i've been subscribed to humble monthly/choice since 2018. steam account since 2010. early humble bundles were good as well as early steam bundles. i have a lot of shovelware from bundles where i wanted 2-3 games in them but they had twice that many games. the my backlog on steam is closer to 300 games. and i've actually been doing a decent job of getting through it recently, beaten 35 games this year so far.

The Relink devs are really bad at marketing when they could've gotten thousands of new sales if they just discounted the base game before the expansion's release, or at the very least lets you buy the cheaper complete version like Dragon's Dogma 2 so you can start playing the base game while you wait for the expansion to drop.
>>
>>741936982
The Relink bundle is gonna be $60 anon. It's already a discount.
>>
>>741936445
Yes. If you can get a friend go buy it so you can eventually use hamachi or another program to play conviction coop campaign then even better cuz that campaign is great

>>741936846

>>
>>741937040
In retrospect it's pretty lazy there's no pre-order but then again there's going to be a huge influx of new players on release.
>>
>>741937040
Yeah, but you can't even buy it right now on Steam.
If you want to play Relink early, you have to buy the base game separately at $40 (no discount, fuck you) and buy the expansion ($30) separately next month, just so they could nickel and dime you for $10.
>>
>>741933982
>I'm considering getting DoDonPachi Resurrection just because there seems to be a remake coming out and I'm worried they will delist the original, I'm not actually that keen on playing it...
I don't think the remake says anything about having all the DDP Resurrection modes so RIP black label and ketsui mode. There's a demo out for the remake right now so i guess just play it and if you like it maybe get Resurrection? Shmups are like 20 minutes long anyway so just refund it if you don't like it.
>>
>>741936314

It's so funny that both games has the same prices, but Capcom bundled their whole game for $50 when they could've sold it for at least $70 and even lets you buy the complete version right now so you can start playing the base game while you wait for the expansion to be released without trying to nickel and dime their player base.

>>741937229
publishers realized that at this point, if someone is going to buy the game then they are going to just buy the game. sales at this point are just lost money. publishers also care more about total revenue rather than cultural relevance, so they'd rather have 50 people buy a game at 25 dollars than 100 people buy a game at 10 dollars. market research was a mistake, especially being done by BAs fresh out of school with no life experience or critical thinking abilities.
>>
>>741937437

You'll be shorted $10. Story mode is short and is not worth buying the game now only to rush through that alone.

Postgame grinding three other characters is exhausting though. It seems like there's some people on now but release will have a new player influx and crossplay which pretty much guarantees you'll find people at all times.

Abiotic Factor is better in SP because you set the pace of the exploration instead of being dragged along by other people. And it's not grindy enough that you'd need multiple people to gather materials to build your base without feeling like a chore.
Core Keeper would definitely benefit in MP since the material gathering can feel grindy because there's a lot of it, and due to limited inventory space, you'll need to go back and forth a lot between your base to store your items.
V Rising is completely fine in SP, you can tweak your game setting to make it less grindy like Palworld, and the bosses feels batter to do in SP since you can easily cheese them in MP.

Can't speak for other games since I haven't played them.

I enjoy the Spiders games honestly, but I'm just warning you that they are very generic. Greedfall has the eurojank sort of Gothic/HoMM exploit fun where you either break the game completely or suffer the basic combat experience and Steel Rising is a decent action game with a unique style to it, but even they have their flaws and boring characters + dialogue. Bound by Flame rides entirely on the dynamic between an endless tide of cold based undead vs you being tempted by fire demon powers that counter them. I suppose it less than 2 dollars though.

Not really, the game is designed around multiplayer because the default setting is really grindy and not solo friendly, so you have to change some settings (increase drop rates, allow you to teleport when carrying ores) and use some mods (increase item stack size) to make it more bearable to play solo.

Salt&Sanctuary
Xanadu Next
Sunset Overdrive (Warning, Comedy Game)
FlatOut 2
Ys games before Celceta/7 (Oath In Felghana in particular is GOATed, 1&2 are extremely rough around the edges, but SOVLful)
Shadow Warrior 2

Are all under $5. If you want to spend $15 to play all of the Borderlands content that is unironically GOATed forever (and not of the abysmal flaming hogshit that followed), The Handsome Collection appears to be about $16.

Going through the list of games below $2 is a quaint experience that almost invokes a sense of meditative trance. There is so much random stuff that seems mildly fascinating but not enough to dedicate time to. Various old titles I haven't thought about in years, clones of classics that don't seem different enough to justify their existence, sequels I've never heard about but that apparently were poorly received, flash games that were once free but now you can pay money for because why not, bad erotic games and strange visual novels, various shovelware and mid-budget niche games that never found their audience, painfully average looking indies, obvious shitposts, small things that looks more a tech demo than an actual game, and those types of games that your mind simply grazes past without really registering what it was. And it just keeps going, as if this stream can continue on forever, extending through infinity. And there is a certain irony in seeing a game from fairly renowned series like Spellforce be in the same price category as some furry fetish VN or something called Jesus Christ Simulator.
With that in mind, it's kinda funny to think about value of any particular game, of what it's actually worth, especially against current controversies about prices of games and hardware. Imagining that games from major studios with millions in budget might one day find themselves on that list, alongside such creative projects as "Anime Feet Aim Trainer" and "Fidget Spinner RPG".

Valheim solo is only enjoyable in the first to third biome but even then the grindiness starts to set in early in the second biome. Top that with constant mob spawns every time you harvest anything outside your base.
It gets way worse in the later biomes where the essential drops/resources exceed your inventory space and forces you to backtrack more times than you really should or want.

I got Last Call BSS for this and it was so dissapointing I uninstalled. The building part is just snapping pieces together until they fit (you get no manual, so 90% of it is obvious left+right side and 10% looks like it can go anywhere so you just place it on every part until it snaps)
The only involved part is world's worst painting minigame where you use spray paint to paint the gunpla and have to use tape over the parts you don't want to be spray painted
It's so bad that AI shovelware Gunpla game is better than it

>when they are the cheapest games to be made
As someone who writes them for fun I gotta push back a bit since all the writing takes a shit ton of time. Can't compare it with programming a platformer but I expect they'd not be far off in time suck.
The amount of people that VNs appeal to is also a very small pool, so every single sale counts. If you're just gonna make the 1 dollar from that sale, you might as well keep prices high and anyone who wants it for basically free will pirate it anyway so you lose nothing. The 10 or whatever from the handful of paying customers will make up for any shortfall very quickly.

What's your slavjank tolerance?
Game is a 3/10 or an 8/10 depending on it.

The game is nigh impossible to play through without a guide and every single one of them are outdated to some extent although still very useful in general.
On the other hand they did add an "exploration" mode that does things like remove quest timers.

Be aware that they are developing a 2.0 build of the game that will brick all your previous save files.

anyone else confused why the steam storepages is so shit
theres shit space wasting elements
theres shit autoplay broadcast video that takes the entire screen and then follows you as you scroll down as if its some blog ai spam website trying to sell ads using video view metrics
theres shit autoplay TRAILER after you evaded the autoplay broadcast right under it, while the broadcast plays in the mini screen

I mean, its so shit you know? Why?
GoG is much better.
Epic still has autoplay trailers but otherwise its better.

Im a neet with limited money. Lots of old games now or a few new games later?
>>
>>741942424
Yes and no. If you do play solo you will want to use the modifiers to increase material yield as without more than one person obtaining stuff you will be in for some looooong sessions. The first few biomes are legitimately great, you will only start to struggle in the swamp. You will have to take most things very slowly.

That all being said, it is still the king of these types of games. The building can't be beat and you have lots of options and things to do. I just wish the game WAS FUCKING FINISHED ALREADY.

spyro trilogy should be played on ps1, get an emulator.

It has non-linear levels with tons of secrets, secret levels, keys, and most combat encounters are not locked-in arena battles. It doesn't get much more retro than that, weapons upgrades could be the odd gameplay mechanics out, but that's almost universal in retro shooters at this point

they must be popular for a reason, right?

Ghost Trick looks dumb but it's the single best story Capcom has made yet.

Played the flash games, I think that one dev working on it for 20 years now should be finally compensated
>>
>>741952484
still not worth 10 bucks
the ui is bad and controls are bad on pc
you can get the entire batman arkham series for 9 dollars, or 2 different AAA open world games for that each with 60 hours of content
>>
>>741952382
Basically, yeah. It works but all of your payments have to be through debit/credit or even easier you could buy a steam code in said country, having a friend helps here. I'm using Vietnamese currency in Europe for ages now

They did MW1 with a similar discount last sale. They’re probably trying to onboard people for MW4.

It's a badass game, extremely comfy, but with parts that are so hard, you get stuck on them like the good ole days of snes/ps1/ps2. The music is comfy. The graphics are comfy. The exploration for items is comfy. It has minimal cringe, compared to other similar games (looking at you Sea of Stars trying to be chrono trigger while being goofy and stupid ass steven universe themed).

Thinking of getting Monster Hunter Wilds, is it really that bad compared to previous entries? I have a beefy PC so am not concerned about performance.

There are some monsters. I haven't played too much of the game and when I did it was a while ago. I don't remember killing any though. You do need to gather materials from specific creatures which can consist of manhandling them in specific ways. An early creature are these rabbits you grab and pull their cheek fluff off.

It's more like a Story of Seasons but alchemy instead of farming.

The best solution is purchasing region switching service on plati.market
After that you refill your account by purchasing steam gift cards online, or make a second account, add the first account as a friend, and just buy gift cards for the first account using your second account and you normal currency.
I'm using an Argentine account for 6+ years without any issues. Currently probably it's Pakistan that is the best region. It uses USD, and I think, but I'm not sure, that any USD card works for any USD account, whether they are USA, Turkey or whatever. And the Pakistan (SASIA) tends to be cheaper than MENA or LATAM.

Is Fallout 2 good? It's on a seemingly good bundle with 1 and Tactics.
I have only pirated 1 and liked it a lot so I'm getting that.

Ballionaire is streamer slop.
Gunbird is develish hard. I don't have any recommendation for an easy one but you can get Progear for Capcom Arcade Stadium for 0.99. Or just play those games on an emulator.
Parking Garage Rally is great.
