Some shovelware slop on the Gameboy mostly. A couple of movie games, some paintball game, I can't remember any other shovelware probably because it was just that bad. In terms of modern games though, CK3 is pretty bad, and EUV is also up there in terms of being bad, though both being infinitely better than any shovelware game. Else Ring gets an honorable mention because the people who play it are insufferable cunts, that game is pretty decent.

I'm pretty picky with games but worst came that I have completed is probably Two Worlds. I still have no idea how or why I got through it but I did. Out of spite I would say Hitman World of Assassination which is a puzzle game about purchasing the correct DLC without overspending. Hardmode is if you had parts before the name change and combining the games. The game itself isn't bad but they made getting to play so painful that I could never recommend it.

Thi4f takes some beating. Genuinely unpleasant game to play, you just want to turn it off as soon as you turn it on. Which is strange because Human Revolution and, especially, Mankind Divided were both serviceable-to-great modernisations of the immersive sim formula. If Dishonored were set entirely at night then it would have been a much more credible Thief 4. Shitman: Absolution was pretty crap, especially if you don't give a shit about Grindhouse (I don't). Fallout 4 makes me just not want to play it, like Thief 4. It's so patronisingly written. Modern Bethesda know full well that they are making skinner boxes for cro magnons, they can barely conceal their contempt for the player. Ubisoft, of course, take this up to the next level. I learned my lesson by the time of Asscreed Valhalla, but I could not believe the lack of respect for player time and ability to notice endlessly repeating assets and gameplay in Odyssey. Which is sad, because I rather enjoyed the first few hours after leaving Chios. I have watched a friend play (and critique) Far Cry New Dawn and 6, and both looked gash for much the same reasons. I myself got about a third of the way into Dutch Wogs: Legion, I thought it was borderline shovelware. My now Clint Hocking has fallen. If I have to see my native country depicted by mentally backward, nepotism-hire French Canadians once more, I swear. Then we have the subgenre of shit that was supposedly 'engoodened'. Shit like Total War Rome 2 or No Man's Sky, both still utter crap today. I will make an exception for Cyberpunk, because I thought it was great on PC from the word go. Not the right game for anyone who wants a GTA sandbox or a proper full-fat RPG, but it was always clear that the writing, art, and music were top tier from the word go. No "engoodening" needed, at least on PC. Then there's classic disappointments like Master of Orion 3 or Ultima IX. The wounds never, ever heal.

What's weird is I don't remember my early fat PS2 as a kid freezing, so I'm thinking my dad bought us a newer fat at some point (which are the ones that have problems with the game) and sold the older one. I will never forgive LOTR Conquest. I was promised LOTR battlefront. Sure it was playable and had an interesting archer>warrior>mage unit dynamic and hero units but the missed potential after battlefront 2 killed me. I still have it for xbawx somewhere.
