What's your favorite vidya, and what's your favorite cozy memory associated with it?

>>741937151Ocarina Of Time, 1998.The sweet memory:Browsing a local electronics store's small game shelf in mid December. Mom had promised me one (1) game as a Christmas present.I didn't know what to choose. Mom picks up a fancy golden box and says "hey, this has cute horses in it!". So we just randomly picked it.Didn't recognize the name. Had no hype for the game.Started reading the game manual on our way back home. The world map and the character portrays already captivated me, promising a massive, living virtual world like nothing I'd seen before. The next few months, I would live and breath everything Ocarina Of Time related. It was the first video game where I actually wanted to LIVE in.

>>741937151>Terranigma (1995)ESL, was learning English at that time, beginner-level teen.Probably the first SNES game where I felt story and dialogue was important compared to other games like for example Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 3, hell even Killer Instinct and Street Fighter 2 I didn't care about the story because it was mostly walls of text.I had time for playing on weekends so whenever I was playing and progressed the story I'd write down either dialogues or sentences I didn't know and even doodle the scene so I'd have a reference of "when the scene happened". Later midweek when I had English lessons, I'd ask teacher for words I didn't know or at the end of the class I'd ask for help translating what I had in that notebook.I somehow ended up getting so immersed because of this that felt like chores to others (even friends who watched me bother that much with that) but I loved this interaction, it felt special to me.I loved this game because it was the first that opened my eyes to the fact that videogames weren't just highscores and stages... Next games I got and gave me the same feeling and loved as much was the Breath of Fire 1 and 2 games.

Not my favorite vidya, but I have found memories of staying up past my bedtime playing Pokemon Ruby with my brother (he had Sapphire) using the GBA lamp attachment, then our dad walked in, saw what we were doing, winked and closed the door.
Summer of '09, maybe '10, playing Wrath of the Lich King at 2am on my laptop. I'm in Wintergrasp, few people are there. It wasn't especially good, nothing interesting happened, but I remember clearly having this feeling that everything would be alright, that life would be alright.

Probably getting Super Mario Sunshine and Gamecube as Christmas present, and then enjoying the tropical island while eating pic related. Not my favorite Mario game, neither the first one I played, but somehow it just had magical vibes back in the day.
>>741953186And because this thread is about favorite vidya and favorite moment with it, it’s kind of funny question in the sense that the most memorable moments aren’t necessarily related to my absolute favorite games. Most memorable moments usually come from childhood or teenage years, but most games I play as adult enjoy more of a slow burn appreciation instead of sheer emotional joy.But I’m a massive Morrowindfag and even though its not necessarily about memorable individual moments, learning a proper jump spell the first time was really fun as fuck.
