I know Veilguard sucks, but what about the other Dragon Ages? Are 1,2 and Inquisition worth playing? Will it have an unfinished story because i refuse to touch Veilguard?
>>7419469121 is self contained and easily the best by far, if you want more you can play the expansion (Awakening), that's it
It's /v/ so most people will just blindly say no, but the truth is Origins is one of the best RPGs ever made and it holds up pretty well2 took a pretty big shift design wise but you still feel the DNA of origins, if you play Origins and the awakening DLC (which you should) I would say yes 2 is worth playing, it's dirt cheap and a pretty short gameInquisition is a different beast, I like it - but it's very obviously a different direction than the original 2 - if you enjoyed 2, you will likely enjoy Inquisition - if you didn't enjoy 2 - I wouldn't bother with InquisitionInquisition mostly concludes the story arc other than the veilguard hook, but even loyal dragon age fans just ignore that now - veilguard isn't worth playing under any circumstance and you don't really miss out by not playing it
>>741946912>Will it have an unfinished story because i refuse to touch Veilguard?Meh, only if you care about the elven story and origins of the blightThey give answers to that in the games and what happened to the TitansI guess Solas story will be unfinished unless you play Veilguard but i would not worry about it
>>7419469121 is ok. It's an experiment that sort of worked. It's unbalanced and slow but has potential and the writing is decent.2 is absolute dog shit. An unfinished expansion stretched into a full game in a matter of months. Totally unfinished to an obvious degree, broken systems, retarded and obnoxious characters, awful writing, easily one of the worst games I've ever played in my 40 years on earth.3 and veilguard are just kinda crappy faux mmo's.
1 is great old fashioned RPG, though a bit janky to play. It's basically built on the foundation of Neverwinter Nights, if you've ever touched that you know how it plays. The DLC is also good if a bit rushed.2 had an interesting premise but was rushed out way too fast. It has press X for awesome gameplay and enemies spawning out of thin air on top of you to ruin any strategy, abysmal story writing and endlessly recycled areas thanks to the rushed schedule. You'll visit the same cave a dozen times. 3 has shit writing, even more garbage press X for awesome gameplay completely abandoning the tactical roots and plays like single player MMO. Large empty areas where you do pointless collection quests. Also some incredibly garbage companions.
>>741947264>Origins is one of the best RPGs everIt's not even in the top 5 of Bioware RPG's. It was fine.
>>741946912DAO was good, although I couldn't be bothered to replay it, turns into a bit of a slog.DA2 I found rather boring, don't remember much of it.
>>741946912Only the first one is good.2 has a nice idea, but dogshit excution.
>>741947264Origins is, no joke, the worst game I spent way too much time playing. It was milquetoast dark fantasy hyped to be the spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series, but just ended up checking the boxes for the "Bioware template". The character creator? Whack. MMO cooldown gameplay? Whack. Character model proportions? Whack. Relationship simulation? Whack. Advertising DLC content mid-game? Whack. This was back before mass DRM cracking, Steam sales, and "free" games from subscription, so us decrepit old men had to try and make the handful of games we bought last. Nothing about DA:O triggers nostalgia.
