The chrome looking parts are metal, yes. But the somewhat grainy gray plastic is not chrome and it's not chrome finished either yet it mirrors it's surroundings almost as much as the actual chrome parts.

The gray in OP pic looks like a slightly darker and less yellowish version of the old gray desktop monitors instead of the almost white of your car. I'm not even sure about my point because it's hard to make out exactly what the OP pic is but your pics are really really not helping in dispersing my doubts so far.

I think people look back on it through rose tinted glasses. The graphics were amazing, especially the weather effects, but that was a huge part of its appeal. Underneath, I found the game pretty shallow. Most events were just point to point races, circuit races, time trials, or drift challenges repeated across different tracks. The club system sounded ambitious but never really changed how I played. The disastrous launch didn't help either, server issues made the online focused features barely work, the PS Plus version got delayed and a lot of people moved on before the game was fixed. By the time it was actually in good shape, competitors had taken the spotlight. It's not a bad game, but I always felt it had the depth of a puddle wrapped in some of the best graphics the genre had ever seen.

Like I said, I never got to play it, I'm not sure why I skipped on it but maybe someone told me the gameplay sucked, or maybe I heard about the launch issues at the time. Looking up gameplay now though it looks incredible for a 2014 game. It genuinely looks better than FH6 and I'm not exaggerating one bit. Materials, reflections, lighting is all way ahead of its time.

I deleted all that stuff way back but you can look at the RDR2 screenshots and compare it with the PS4 version of the game, the game doesn't look like that on PS4. If GTA 6 is anything like GTA 5 was, it'll take 2-3 console generations for consoles to catch up to PC. When GTA 6 comes out on PC they'll optimize it for the most popular and latest cards. I think the greater worry for console players shouldn't be over some worse graphics though but stability and the gameplay itself, if there's any improvements.
