want to into platform fighters but the only 2 alternatives with, apparently good mechanics, have such BORING generic rosters. basically opposite multiversus problem?
roa2, is it that hard making something original that doesnt look like a bad pokemon generation? apparently they're announcing a new one at evo so maybe im lucky and they actually made something cool
nasb2, idk maybe im just the wrong generation for this shit. I heard they're buying warner bros so might be worth playing when they add good characters eventually. they're probably rereleasing the game, merging it with multiversus by that point tho

>>741947343I've been playing Rivals 2 a ton the past week and taking a small hiatus from melee. The average Rivals player fucking sucks, my record is far better than my melee record ever was and I've played melee since I was a kid. Kind of getting bored already though, CCs, shields, and parries are way too strong in this game and it leads to a waiting game where whoever makes the first move is always at a disadvantage. Zetterburn is actually one of my favorite platform fighter characters of all time though. Fuck is he fun. I just wish his shine had as much knock back as fox's so I could get more cheesy shine spikes. But yeah. Melee and ROA2 are the only ones worth playing if you want a sweaty competitive game where you press a lotta buttons. I also hear Brawlhalla has a big competitive fanbase and it has a ridiculously high player count compared to what you would expect, but I haven't played it so I can't comment. I'm sure there are several options if you want a more casual/fun focused game as well .
>>741949850yeah i saw mango commenting on rivals2 saying defense is too strong, who knows they might fix it. have you tried nasb2?
