>>741959046There is no reason why the Flood didn’t take over Earth in Halo 3, beyond “Gravemind just didn’t feel like it”. He flew High Charity straight into the portal to the Ark on Earth, and could have easily dropped off a dropship full of spores onto Earth to take over while the bulk of the UNSC, Elites, and Prophet loyalists were at each other’s throats on the Ark. They had to glass half of Africa just to contain the little outbreak on New Mombasa.
