My AC came with a window adapter, so I cut that in half to get another place to screw a hose into, and glued it into a box. That's what I did, while the temp outside reads 31C at the moment, my room is at 21C-22C.The worst part about the portable units is that they will always create a vacuum effect in your apartment/room as it needs to blow the air it has heated up back outside, which forces hot air back inside through any gaps/vents so it will cost a lot more money to keep it running for long periods of time along with it being fairly loud, they will also need to be drained of water regularly if you live somewhere with high humidity.I've sort of fixed the sound issue and the water issue as I've used the two top levels of my wardrobe along with some sound isolation foam and built a box around it with vents that allows it to suck in new air and push out cold air into my room as long as I have my wardrobe door open, I've also put a 5 liter plastic jug under it with a thin rubber tube that takes the water from it's own drainage tank and dumps it into the jug, I've then just piped the hot air outside using the included plastic air duct and adapter that I set up every summer as soon as it gets hotter than 25C inside. I've just used the same cheap plastic sheet that I found at a hardware store for like 50€, the plastic roll is supposed to give me 60m of plastic so it should last me until I move to another apartment, I just use that and some cheap tape to create a seal around the window that I keep open to dump all the hot air out of my room.All it takes to stay cool (even when your own sate wants you to boil alive with their retarded views on AC) is some ingenuity and handiwork, the electric bill still sucks ass though.
