Something changed in Anime and I just can't identify with it anymore. Chainsaw man and Jujutsu Kaisen is just completely alien to me. I really tried watching both but I think there is some serious generation gap going on.I already thought anime might not be for me anymore with the Moe K-ON crap from 2007 onwards but there was still a lot of quality coming out every now and then.I rewatched Steins;gate, which I thought was okay but not as special as others when it aired recently. And I actually cried, not because of the anime itself but because of how much we lost.Steins;gate shows a 4chan and internet culture in general that just doesn't exist anymore, how different culture felt and what I didn't even realize was gone already.There are just no anime made anymore that appeal to Millennials and our generation is clearly on the way out in terms of appeal.The worst part is that this is happening with almost all forms of entertainment.Gaming is bad, anime is bad, movies are bad, tv is bad.The only reason I know this is the actual state of things and not depression or personal issues is because I can still enjoy media that is from the 90s or early 2000s. But also because there is still 1 media form that is still good: Books. I still enjoy newly written fiction books because it's still aimed at our type of people as younger generations just don't read besides webnovel slop or AO3 literotica porn. So actual genre novels are at their peak of quality still.Very very sad what happened to entertainment and the drop in quality across the board.
