Ralsei and Suzie healing Flowey in the sword route are the real reason why a mix of Weird Route + main route will be influential, because Noelle is the only one willing to always do what you say
The prophecy will be unavoidable because of a fake free will that lets the NPCs think they're doing the right thing by ignoring the soul's orders, but will in turn directly cause shit to happen because they refuse to stop something important, or because Susie's fake main character ego kicks in and fights you + Ralsei stops playing along with whatever he and Kris discussed in chapter 1 that led to them both holding back

The intended story route is going to be
>Main story (no optional bosses, has to work even without them for normies that don't just grab all 99 crystals and shadow mantle + whatever)
>main story (with optional shit, doesn't matter, world still ends because of lack of NPC decisions)

Chapter 5 was fun bot heavy on being just a platformer and reference to Sonic or Phoenix Wright. The only lore is almost nothing and theme about love and friendship of Kris and Soul toward companions depicted by Mew Mew seem to be the main point along with "we should not retreat into seclusion into fantasy" like Susie did

The biggest issue with figuring out who the knight is, is their motivation. the knights actions are basically incomprehensible so it's impossible to actually try and figure out who they are. not to mention the game implying that they've been doing this for a long time now, or maybe even were involved in whatever happened to make dess disappear.

You didn't close the fountain in 5 until the end while you were still IN the Dark World. Its not like in Chapter 4 where you enter one, close it, THEN susie makes a new one, etc.

In ch 5 it all stems from the one fountain Kris initially made, you just got kicked out then came back. Also, flowery literally starts 1v1ing the Knight doing 999 damage. This could be seen as the Knight influencing the Dark World. Flowery wasn't nearly as combatitive until the Knight showed up, he even tries to ACT you.

I expected Susie's Dark Knight to Paladin arc and it's good. Her regressing in some ways since Chapter 4 by retreating from reality and getting caught up in the fantasy of the Dark World is an interesting angle.
I like the new insight we got into Noelle and I'm happy she's played how I wanted on the Weird Route.
I didn't expect Ralsei to become so outspoken and aggressive, and I like it a lot.
I'm glad Kris is still yearning for Susie and Noelle and is drowning in regret and jealousy by the end of the Chapter.

Suselle is the delusional version of teen romance between people who aren't sure they can make it work but it works out anyway because it's the "normal route". I think it's great in that way. Everyone involved knows it's a cringy too good to be true thing. Even Susie probably realizes it. Their "love" is like a flower. Looks good for one day and then rots forever. Even better, Susie keeps thinking that it'd be great if this lasted forever like she said in earlier chapters. really liked all of the flower characters, entire castle section was kino. loved how many gimmick fights they threw in. also the platforming stuff was a great addition, almost wish it was a permanent upgrade in chapter 1 and the whole game was built with it in mind instead of just being a chapter 5 thing

festival stuff was complete ass, susie's sudden obsession with noelle feels like character assassination. garden and cliff sections were ok but a little underwhelming. going into the castle i was expecting to not like this chapter, but that really saved it for me

chapter 6 is really going to end up framing how i feel about the character stuff in chapter 5. if the noelle and susie stuff is actually being played straight, then my estimation of toby's character writing has plummeted. but if this is all about susie trying the subvert the prophecy by forcing noelle into the party and susie doesn't actually have strong feelings for noelle, then i'll view chapter 5's character stuff as a fun ride on the ruse cruise. i'm inclined to trust toby, but i also feel like this pairing is popular enough with the tumblr fanbase that he wouldn't have the balls to push it to the forefront this much for it to just be a fakeout. if it is a fakeout, then i don't susie is going to end up with kris either, i think there just wont be any overt romance between the main cast.

the ralsei stuff was good though
