where are you on the streamer ladder?
>>
I'm dalit sir

The jew who makes money off the streamer

>Don't watch streamers at all
I'm Ra.
>>
Vizier, but sometimes I watch live, but the latter sucks sometimes.
>>
>>742199205
Sometimes vizier, although I never watch even any highlights channel regularly.
>>
Wrong, Pharaoh is Thiel and viziers would be the producers for that specific streamer
>>
>>742199205
I used to wonder why so many "top streamers" killed themselves or became bitter and jaded.
But it makes sense.
Even "at the top". They are "at the top" of a system that innately incompatible with how a human wants to engage with the world.
I used to watch a streamer a long time ago. By the end you could tell they despised their own viewers and also despised themselves as a person who abuses vulnerable people pretending to be their friend for money.
>>
I only watch 4k max quality no commentary gameplay videos.
>>
>>742199205
i'm outside of the pyramid as i don't watch other peoole play games sorry
>>
Where is the "only watches VODs as background noise" tier?
>>
I'll never get why people want to watch other people play a game than play it themselves. My brother in law claims to be a league of legends player but all he does is watch other people play it on stream. I tried watching it once and it was unbelievably boring. Sure, I get that you get to watch people of a higher skill level than yourself, but I'd still rather lose a match myself than spend my time and money on watching someone else play the game for me. And if you just want to unwind and passively watch something, why not watch a good movie instead of streamer brainrot?
>>
>>742199205
Where am I if I drop my friend a twitch prime sub cos I feel sorry for him?
>>
>>742199678
It's kinda like being on reality tv for 8 hours a day every day for years. It's not surprising that it fucks people up, both the streamers and anyone that regularly watches them
>>
>>742200082
Still a slave, just a slave with a friend.
>>
>>742200058
Skill or personality. For skill I don't see how it's any different than watching people play sports. I don't like either but it's not surprising to me that it's popular.

Where are chat mods?

Imagine doesn't go low enough to show them
>>

I've been using Twitch TV as background noise while I work since 2014. I've likely consumed somewhere around 30,000 hours of livestreams just from being at work. I have never subscribed or donated to any streamer and I run multiple adblocks because sometimes Twitch can get through one of the adblocks.

I also stream my own gameplay sometimes but the only viewers are my gf/friends and a couple randoms.
>>
Stream viewers being cattle is so apt, there's no other entertainment that gets live tips just for the benefit of 'person I adore read out my username and message' - this is all a result of celebrity worship which saw an insane rise throughout the 2000s, the internet allowing the mentally challenged, regularly challenged and socially inept to build instantaneous relationships with someone without spending money, BUT if you spend money that relationship will grow even stronger.

lol

Me, the guy who watches the highlight videos of streamers playing games that make them miserable.
>>
>>742199205
me in the chat constantly insulting the streamer until he breaks then I just send emotes while he rages at me
>>
>>742199678
The only guy I know who seems generally happy is a guy who made a bunch of money 30 years ago and now lives on his own private island and spends every day building random shit, after being forced to leave America because it's a third world shithole and is attempts to just live in the woods were met with the taxman barreling towards him insisting on getting paid.

Everyone else seems to be in hell.

Outside of it.
I hate streamers and i hare streaming culture.
>>
Streamers are an even more retarded version of hostess clubs because at least those will still suck your dick if you pay enough.
>>
why are stream watchers completely braindead?
>>
>>742200058
A lot of times I watch people that have more money to spend on games that I dont want to like mtg arena. Ill watch youtube of people play skylines 2 who are a lot more patient than me to learn it.

Then ill watch streamers play slop games that I wouldnt buy, but its fun watching them play it.
>>
>>742203519
People pay money to tell them what they're doing wrong.
>>
>>742199205
I watch a guy's videos. He's very entertaining and wholesome

Just started in the top part a few weeks ago. I never watch streams though so I am still earning.

Question for those of you who watch. Are clips really important? I'm still working on that pipeline. Also, do you prefer a couple of hour stream or long ones?
>>
>>742199205
I wait for the nicely edited videos. The ones with actually scripted voice overs.
>>
>>742199205
>streamer at the top
Having fun for a living seems like horrible deal. Even when you're not having fun you still need to do it since it's your job.

>I'll never get why people want to watch other people play a game than play it themselves.
Some reasons:
>you have played the game and loved it. Watching someone else play for the first time lets you relive your first time through their eyes (Outer Wilds)
>you play the game regularly. You watch someone else who is much better than you at it, to learn or admire their skill at a talent you yourself are developing (Devil May Cry)
>the game is very open ended and other people’s experience with the game is a completely different thing from your experience playing it (Minecraft)
>The game doesn’t really matter, it’s just a vehicle for the delivery of entertainment only tangentially related to the gameplay itself (whatever DougDoug is playing)

None of these things is a substitute for playing the game itself. They’re all just other kinds of entertainment.

variety streamers and their viewers are utterly subhuman
autists doing the same thing for decades which manage to gather some viewerbase are locked in hellish existence of *gamename*mines

Lots of people beat a game, and then try to relive these moments as accurately as possible. If they're even more retarded than your avg viewer, they backseat to the extreme, trying to align the streamer's experience with their own memories as much as possible. I think the most prevalent example might be the Outer Wilds community, who act like mosquitoes whenever a new "first time player" drops. I also remember how angry viewers were when a dude tried Dark Souls for the first time, - he was using boss souls for money, ignoring lore, and e.g. used the firekeeper soul straight away (the description doesn't really emphasise the item's importance that much). It's quite hilarious to watch chat meltdowns because mUh Mr StReAmEr plays true to himself, not listening to backseating.
