No matter how compelling a work of fiction like a book or a movie could be, it has nothing on the incredible potential of the hands-on immersion and intimacy of a videogame. The feeling that you're being invited to be the single audience member of a story that is the result of only a handful of creatives using this amazing medium to make something that wouldn't ever work in any other medium- it's fucking unparalleled and it's being wasted when you turn it into fucking hollywood or some sort of braindead democracy.
I fucking loathe Death Stranding. I think the story is retarded, the characters are completely boring, and the mechanics are the most galling example of Incredible depth and freedom being hamstrung by an autistic adherence to a fundamentally gimped concept.
