Posted a bit too late to the previous thread, so I want it to start again.

I salute your taste!
Ever tried the second StarCrawlers? I haven't, wonder if it is as good as the first one.

Anyway, since I post again, here are some more from me that I didn't saw in the previous thread.

>Definitely not known enough. One of those games that do a perfect job of looking exactly like the arcade from the good ol' days, while actually packing way more tech than any arcade from good ol' days could ever pack. It's straight up awesome. From gameplay, to art design, to music and voice acting. I cannot recommend this game enough. Picrel.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1053710/The_Red_Lantern/
>Frankly, it's a bunch of minigames tied together. It is also way glitchy and RNG to be straight up enjoyable without Cheat Engine and stuff. But if you like dogs, this game is one of a kind out there.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1924780/Arzette_The_Jewel_of_Faramore/
>This game was done as a homage to Link: The Faces of Evil (the one that gave us MAH BOI and other gems). Arzette genuinely manages to pull out a "so bad, it's good looks", except this game is actually pretty good.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1436590/Phoenotopia_Awakening/
>My personal 10/10. Cozy little adventure that started its long, long way as a flash game on Newgrounds. Just play it. I want Phoenotopia 2 to happen one day.

Also, my post in the previous thread is here:

>the worlds are neat to explore
>some of the worlds are unsettling, but not overly so. I consider them a good change of pace
>character is a wolf girl. there's a button to make her howl, and there's a few different howls
>photo mode. can sit or strike a cute pose
>story is not shoved in your face, can ignore it and still enjoy the game
>number of small easter eggs
I've played this game every night in 30 minute sessions as a sleep aide and I've gotten a full 8 hours every day so far. I do wish it was a little less linear, but I still recommend it.

Please someone help me out, this is about a game that i think was posted in one of the earlier threads during this sale

Im reposting my messages here

- I saw some anon post this medieval looking game that had a female character, it looked like an old 80s mac game but it was also pretty gory. It was kind of a metroidvania and the art made it seems like you could go up and down on the screen like an old arcade beat em up. I lost the name, anyone has it? Please i wanna take another look at it.

- Up and down like a beat em up, within the same screen. It was gory and had a female character, look kind of like a really fancy old pc game. Think Dangerous Dave era but way more colors, obviously couldnt be done in that eras hardware.

- The female character looked like a medieval girl with a sword but not a knight in armor, she was wearing more like leather armor.. The graphics were kind of like older mac games, just more intricate. Think late 80s pc graphics. The story was something like

"character has come back home and found it invaded by monsters and now must liberate the town"

It had a medieval setting, something very similar to castlevania. It did not have an anime aestehthic.

>Ever tried the second StarCrawlers? I haven't, wonder if it is as good as the first one.
Sadly, not really.
>Music's a lot worse because they couldn't really get Ben Prunty back. In fact gun to my head I cannot even remember what the music was like.
>Very "just pick whatever stats are good to you" loot design. You get showered with endless amounts of crap with very little that actually serves your build. Unless you pick specific class types you also have virtually no way of tailoring the gear to what you want/need.
>At some point regardless of which difficulty you've chosen and which classes you've picked the game's difficulty falls off a cliff with very little to challenge you(you'll always eventually end up dying to a group of 6 minibosses on the penultimate floor) and using up all of your free revives that you get on a previous floor, and the first of the endgame bosses will take fucking forever because every time you damage it they gain resistances up to 100% complete full resistance to all of your damage types and you have to either use a shittier weapon type you're not specced into or just wait until the resistances reset. Every class just eventually fits together into being a huge I WIN button and it's both the best and worst part of the game, best because it's cool stumbling on broken builds and worst because it eventually boils down to screen clearing everything effortlessly.

Any good 3rd person action RPG? Looking for something that plays like a Tales of or Dragon's Dogma with more exploration, puzzles, dungeon crawling and character builds & crafting. Don't care about visuals as long as it's not hyper-realistic. Fantasy preferred.

>Rule the Waves 3 somehow has less than 1000 reviews
Alright then. It's a giga autistic naval warfare game. Which has the best way of handling obsolescence I have ever seen.
Ships take so long to build they are never cutting edge when finished. And with both time and budget constraints. You can't just build more ships.
You'll keep decades old ships around. Upgrading them as much as is feasible. Or shifting roles. Just to keep your strength up and not waste years getting new ones. Every year.
When your old flagship gets sunk. You feel it, she's been around forever, even though you knew she was past her prime. And perhaps relegated to colonial patrol duties. It's great. Until carriers and missiles appear, because I have no fucking idea how to fight with either in this game. Even Command makes it simpler.

>Sadly, not really.
Eh... That's sadly indeed.
Ben Prunty's Hit The Floor boss theme is one of the baddest tracks I have in my collection of 20+ thousand songs. I'm not saying I've expected the sequel to rock the tunes of the same quality, but I didn't expect it to be that forgettable.
That being said, I likely will still try it one day, if only for the love of the first StarCrawlers.

Anyone who liked that probably should jump onto Zeboyd's other games - Cthulhu Saves The World and Cthulhu Saves Christmas (and maybe even text only Molly The Werezompire and the rest of the stuff).
Cthulhu games are truly awesome. One of the few that I completed more than ones. By the way, if you detest NG+ as much as I do, I have to tell you that NG+ in Cthulhu Saves Christmas is not quite what it seems. I'm telling that because I almost decided against clicking on NG+, but Cthulhu Saves Christmas is so short that I did and, well, I definitely didn't regret it.
And Cthulhu Saves The World has a whole bunch of different modes for your second playthrough. It is a bit longer than the Christmas, but also a little less pretty (Christmas is just gorgeous, and the soundtrack is top-notch too).

Also, I remember someone mention Geneforge in the previous thread, and it's the same thing here too: if you liked Geneforge, just go through the whole dev's list:
https://store.steampowered.com/developer/spiderwebsoftware
Avernum, Queen's Wish, Geneforge... They might be a bit clunky gameplay-wise, but what elevates these games is A-class writing. It's a must-play for every fantasy fan. The concepts, the stories, the worlds... are simply beautiful.
It's insane that none of his games are anyhow known, even thought Spiderweb has been making games for 25 years at this point. the man is thoroughly devoted to his craft and his fantasy worlds. It is kinda sad, but infinitely admirable.

Tower of Kalemonvo is a diablo 1 clone that is fairly enjoyable

Luma Island is a pretty good stardew-esque game

Ghostlore is another pretty good isometric dungeon crawler based on yokai mythology

Sentinel Girls 1 and 2 are pretty fun point and click 2d shooters that remind me of old flash games, I especially like the soundtracks of these games

>I'm not anyhow the fan of the sports games. The only one I played so far is FIFA Street 2, way back on PS2 in 2000's. But this one got me hooked. Something about your werewolf quaterback raking up millions in debt because of his clown porn addiction is way funny to me. Also, the game has awesome soundtrack, with some teams getting their own songs written specifically for the game. I think, the worst part of MFL is rather poor optimisation, but if my 2016 Win 7 PC managed to handle it, I'm sure yours will do the trick.

>Tiny arcade-like that actually combines every arcade genre you can think of in one 45-minute long package full of kickass and heavy action. It's really weird that it got only 100+ reviews, the game is very well done.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1042780/Pine/
>Heard people calling it "poor man's Zelda", but I never played any modern Zeldas, so I can't really compare. On its own though, it is a beautiful adventure in a small, but handcrafted world, where no two locations are the same. Good soundtrack too. I might be a bit biased towards this game, because it is the last games I've played like I was a child again. That means, I spent my whole week playing Pine, sunrise to sunset, and immersing myself in a game like that once again was one awesome experience, and therefore I might remember it a bit too kindly.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/893690/Rikki__Vikki/
>Solid puzzle game, designed for two players in mind. Surely, you conplete it solo. But you get the bad ending, and that's why I like this game so much. We need to promote couch parties aggressively in 2026.

KuloNiku. It's a fun cooking/management game about running a ramen shop, with Cooking Mama style mechanics to prepare ingredients and some simple social link kinda stuff. Also pic related sounds like Daiwa Scarlet so that's fun (no full VA tho, only sounds)

I wish I'd known the degree to which it was pure Diablo 1 before I bought it, really cool game but a bit too feature sparse for me. The dev posting a gif of the door mimics is what made me buy it, that shit's funny as hell.
