Low poly just feels right for video games

It feels custom made to host game activities like platforming, combat with enemies, destructible environments, climbable objects, spotting interactive objects etc without compromises for less important stuff

Any other 3D game visual style like someone jury rigged an engine meant for movie CGI, simulations, 3D cartoons etc and tried to make a game in it

Frankly, if we stopped advancing graphics in the PS360 era and focused more on games getting better performance at a solid 1080p/>=60FPS and gameplay systems like physics and things like that, gaming would be in a better spot today.

Hopefully, optimization, reasonable hardware specs and good art direction return too. Not to say that it didn't exist even in the 8th gen, but ever since the crypto craze of 2017, games have just become unrealistically unoptimized.

I'd rather just play games that look good enough, have a pleasing aesthetic and run well on my systems than anymore unoptimized realismslop that we've normalized over the past 15 years.
